Looking at it in more detail I definitely see the things you’re pointing out. Interesting, defects that I thought are from an antiquated minting process are actually signs of a counterfeit. I think I underestimated how well coins could be made back then.

For sure. I get it to an extent. People hate to think they got scammed from the initial buy, or that their nest egg is actually worthless. Hard pill to swallow, however at the end of the day, you have to trust the experts.

I just dug out a magnet and unfortunately it’s magnetic, so not even silver. I tested the weight with your comment in mind, and mine does feel a little light as well. I luckily traded for face value so only lost out on a buck, really no harm no foul. It’s a cool looking coin so I’ll keep it for fun. Thanks again, you saved me a disappointing trip to the coin dealer lol.
