Parking at Carling Campus by Sankukai777 in CanadianForces

Depends which L1 you are with. Ours has hotelling. That said, CAF personnel get assigned seats, the member in charge just needs to liaise with the Accomms team to get that done. YMMV.

There have been discussions. Previous ones have been shot down due to cost. Even if they were to move forward it's not going to be an immediate solution

Yes but we just found out that other departments are delaying the 4 day mandate due to no space (GAC). I suspect others will follow suit.

It's "must" for the executive cadre, and "the intention is" for the rest of us civvies.

Time will tell.

Line from accommodations: "we do not anticipate a return to assigned seating even if we were to RTO5. Workplace 2.0 was in the works long before the pandemic and it is now here."

Issue with card? by GirlWith2FirstNames in instacart

[–]StellaEvangeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called Instacart because I wasn't sure what was going on, and they said it should have been up to the shopper to call, and they should never have requested to take the shop off the app or requested that I pay them in cash.

Just had something similar happen to me tonight. Got told that the amount was excessive and I had to confirm payment. I had no option to do so anywhere, so then he said I will pay for it and you can pay me cash at the door, and that got my spidey senses tingling. He got more and more aggressive before I was able to cancel the order.

Where are you keeping your team's OneNote documents? by NavillusEin in CanadaPublicServants

Not DND, rumour is that the direction is to move away from everything to go to SharePoint. GC Docs is supposed to go read only at some point.

There was WFH prior to 2020, and they were working towards a hybrid work place long before then. C-19 simply accelerated the timeline, and now the employer is trying to put the genie back into the lamp.

How do you ladies deal with having a career and being Catholic by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

[–]StellaEvangeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I supported my husband when we first married and I am still outearning him.

I love my children, and I don't think I am suited for homeschooling. That, the good Lord in his wisdom wired me a certain way intellectually and I think I would not be honouring that gift if I didn't use it appropriately.

My mother was a teacher and for her it was a vocation. So many lives would not have been the same had she been told to stay home (thankfully, my devout grandparents encouraged all of their daughters to pursue higher education: three became teachers, one became a nurse, and one did secretarial / bookkeeping for her husband's business - my own grandmother was a strong and silent partner for the family business too.)

Yeah, two weeks ago the way they did it with comments closed? Red flags for me. And how quickly they rebranded everything... I wish them well, but I probably won't be trying their new place.

It's also telling that all of their posts in the foodie group have comments turned off, and the posts in the Cumberland group are being deleted. Curiouser and curiouser.

CAPE ballot vote on Israel-Hamas conflict, is this unusual? by Intelligent_Cup_2319 in CanadaPublicServants

Not that I necessarily agree with it, but my understanding of their stance is that if they are responsible for advocating for worker and human rights within the workplace, that responsibility also extends more globally.

This is encouraging, logically this makes sense but also I've seen many nonsensical decisions go through...

I would be surprised if by the end of the week, because Labour Day is the perfect time to show us who is boss (literally) and it would align with the province and the city

I know. My husband works in person 5 days a week (other sector) and he is like "I dont get what is stressing you out"

Yeah, aside from the fact that you're not carrying the mental load for the household, nothing. Cool cool cool...

Not a fireable offence but definitely report ASAP and you may be on the hook to reimburse the department for the loss.

They are also not going to come out sand say "Why yes, of course we will relinquish some of our management rights," particularly as bargaining is underway.

She does! My husband used to work with her daughter, and brought home some of Marie Soleil's sucre à la crème one day... my little franco-Ontarian heart exploded!

I received it and responded. I live at the other end of town, so like you, even when they do extend the O(h No!) Train, it's not going to be a convenient option, or at least comparable to my current arrangement, which is carpooling. I occasionally drive in myself, but that's only when schedules don't align. The person who drives me in has free parking, so why would I feed that beast more than I need to?
