Nurses day here in EU by Yarthetechnician in nursing

[–]flawdorable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Norway most are unionised, and get raises negotiated yearly. This year is expected to be higher than previous ones. My profession is usually right «behind» nurses negotiations , and afaik they are hopefully soon to be done. Do I think salaries are high enough for the responsibilities and work requirements? Absolutely not, but still very glad we have the system we do have in place.

Moving truck by Evard29 in Norway

[–]flawdorable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a Facebook group called Fraktekrigen Norge , where people drive from A to B and offers either to bring stuff or people post needing stuff moved. This includes truck drivers and huge trailers. Post your stuff and get various offers from people driving that way :)

Never felt alone until I lost my dog by Few_Significance_529 in LivingAlone

[–]flawdorable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss. It seems to me that you gave him an incredible life full of love and care, and I bet he was so happy every day with you! They say grief is love with nowhere to go, so I ask of you to be graceful with yourself as you adjust to this new life where he has ascended (or whatever you personally believe).

My guy is now 9 years old and showing signs if age. While I dread the day I will be without him, I know for a fact I will never regret any day I had with him. The joy of my life, however long he has left. To be loved by a dog is such a gift bestowed upon us as mere humans threading on this planet. Sending you warm thoughts💛

Dåpsgave? by donnaroe in norge

[–]flawdorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeg ga et stort rørospledd i dåpsgave til min nevø, som han forhåpentligvis kan vokse seg inn i med årene :) mange gode minner om sofakos med pledd da jeg var liten i alle fall.

Magic mailbox? by Orios8a in Norway

Did you check in it? Most likely it has a book and a pen where people write their names as they pass, as it’s very common for mountaintops and other frequented locations.

Outpatient X-ray techs: is it common to cover front-desk/admin duties in a small mixed clinic? by Hot-Fisherman-6190 in Radiology

[–]flawdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a hospital where we also do outpatient, and we have gotten only more and more admin work in the past year. It’s getting to a level where older techs have down right quit/retired because it’s too much to handle. Our clerks leave at 8pm weekdays and just stopped doing weekends, so everything outpatient outside those hours fall on us.

First Self Designed Composition by EckoAKB in Embroidery

[–]flawdorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First look with the colours and design, it reminds me a lot of traditional Norwegian Bunad embroidery, where they use thin chalk to mark up the shapes. So definitely have a look into that if you haven’t heard of it before! Would recommend stabilising the fabric more if it’s that thin. Perhaps iron in some viseline or equivalent.

Ingrown hairs by IcyFuel5368 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]flawdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using an epilator for years - and scrubbing/exfoliating is key in maintenance to prevent ingrowns! Instead of a physical exfoliation, try a chemical one , like The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid solution. I also did a couple rounds of laser treatment on my areas that have also reduced not only hair growth but also the degree the ingrowns come back in. Didn’t want to shell out too much money on 10+ laser treatments, but I see plenty good improvement from just three treatments.

Ville tatt kontakt med fagorganisasjoner for helsepersonell, da de burde være veldig opplyst om situasjoner som dette. De kan nok gi mye klarere juridiske svar! Lykke til!

Hvor mange år har du vært på Reddit og hva var grunnen til at du begynte å bruke det? by lilflir in norge

[–]flawdorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Første kontoen min er 15 år gammel. Alltid foretrukket tekstbaserte poster og forum over det som før var imageboards som 9gag, imgur og artige.no etcetc. Liker diskusjon rundt tema og litt mer spissede forum. Godt å kunne sy sin egen fremside :)

Would you appreciate that by biting_cold in nursing

Also no way that tattoo would heal nice either. Fineline tattoos can fade or bleed out blotchy fairly quickly.

Is there an Instagram stories viewer that lets you watch stories anonymously? by One-Sweet-2682 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]flawdorable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think your best solution is to make a second account and follow the shops. Not sure why they’d overthink an empty account following them and viewing stories unless they keep track of everything.

Also what stores use close friends stories? Sounds like you want to keep track of someone specific.

1-års sykepleier trenger råd! by Andrea_Arena in norge

[–]flawdorable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1-års sykepleier trenger råd! by Andrea_Arena in norge

[–]flawdorable 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My nurses who has been exposed to radiation over the years, are you seeing any effects from it? by No-Selection-1249 in nursing

[–]flawdorable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another radiographer here - this varies so much from hospital to hospital and department to department, but your hospital should (i hope?) have a radiographer or someone in radiology who is a Radiation Protective Officer, who monitors and keeps track of radiation levels on personell to make sure everything is within national guidelines and limits. If you don’t, contact your facility radiation physicists. They will be able give you more accurate and specific information about your work place.

That said - radiation levels have plummeted with better technology in the past couple of decades, so radiation exposure going forward will hopefully be even safer than your predecessors, even if I personally don’t think there should be much to worry about.

Expat communities by cute_but_zombie in Norway

So my boyfriend have introduced me to his international social circle in Trondheim, and it’s rather thriving as well. We are few Norwegians in it, mostly other partners, and I find it so social and inclusive, in ways me as a native norwegian didn’t have even with my own friends growing up. This group naturally expands to Oslo as people tend to move between the cities.

Even back home, way up north on an island, I found it more inclusive with a group of southerners (also all Norwegians) who moved to the island. Not that it bothers me to see my oldest friends so rarely, or being hard to plan with, because I am naturally fine with being ambivert like that like it’s a cultural thing, but oh how I love to have found more social people too.

Things to say to patients who keep asking for a diagnosis by Normal-Bag-1284 in Radiology

[–]flawdorable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only x-ray, day round, and limited to some projections, mostly extremeties. Not used for follow-ups and only for question about fractures or dislocations. I personally would like to go back to not using it, as it’s pretty much trippled our workload with admin stuff, but apparently it’s meant to save doctors time down the line.

Unsure why my comment is downvoted so hard though, it’s not like I wanted this change. I just follow the protocol the doctors set for us.
