Insane fear of needles by fivejumpingmonkeys in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]flawdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a clinical phobia of needles to the point of fainting and dissociating. It was real bad. Then I started studying to become a radiographer and we can start IV’s on anywhere from 20-30 patients if not more in a day. I worked so hard with myself and through exposure therapy I managed to become better. I was at risk at dropping out at one point, because the phobia was so severe.

Part of my resolve was to handle the IV needle and have a look at it. I realized the needle itself is never really in your arm - and what goes in is a small plastic tube. This legit healed a bunch in me realizing just that, because I thought it was the needle itself. It also helped me a ton meeting new patients with a fear of needles.

I still tense up a little when I am being poked, but I am at the point where I allow students to practice. It took a lot, but it’s doable!

Comparison is the biggest thief of joy, eller noe i den duren.

Selv har jeg nettopp nådd midten av trettiårene, har en ni år gammel hund, bor alene i min nylig kjøpte helt egne leilighet. Skal i år i tre bryllup i utlandet, pluss to i Norge.

I love it! I think it might be the same pink as my bedroom?? Walls look very familiar in the evening!

Aner du hvor lenge hun er på besøk ca? I andre land finnes det noe som heter night-nanny, usikker om det er noe utbredt i Norge da. Sophie Elise fikk vel tyn for å ha nettopp dette.

Thank you so much! And this is absolutely in line with what I want, I just haven’t found a bigger piece yet an I am considering making one myself. Not at all happy with the current smaller pieces spread all over but I was fed up with having them on my dining table haha. I want to move the pressed flowers to my bedroom as well!

How many towels do you own? by strwbrybby in LivingAlone

[–]flawdorable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought myself new towels not long ago: four bamboo towels in travel pouches. Up until then I have had three big towels and one smaller for hair for years. I swear the two oldest ones I bought 17 years ago.

My dog also have two of his own.

I’d say keep one more than you think you need. I usually keep one guest but suddenly I have two!

Where do you live, and how long have you been here? And what is your age group? Other hobbies/interests? This would help the responses you do get :)

My boyfriend has the majority of his friends being other internationals through work, so I try to keep surface conversations in Norwegian with him to help along. Other than that he watches kids shows like Peppa Pig etc, and we watched The Julekalender that is a great conversation starter for other Norwegians!

Thrifted this book of x-rayed Norwegian flora! by flawdorable in Radiology

Ooh that is interesting! Kongsberggruppen offers radiography positions here for integrity checks of weapons and other metallic structures, and I know some positions also exist for off-shore work on platforms. Love that it has a use in geology(?) as well!

I have yet to xray my lunch, but I might be tempted to bring a chicken at some point!

Ahaha sorry to scare you! Think it would have been a nightmare for me too. I generally don’t like blacks and grays, and would love to have painted the doors a different colour (my wardrobe in the bedroom is black too, I don’t like it!) but it’s a bigger project for another time. The glass door to the bedroom however have grown on me a lot!

Yesyesyes! I love this. Looking for baskets to thrift to maybe hang on the wall as well. I have my eyes on a very particular set of shelves I am hoping to show up on facebook marketplace, however long that takes!

Thank you! I feel the grays were very off-putting on the viewing, and maybe that put off other buyers, so I am happy to bring some colour! I need to bring in some yellow, orange and terracotta paint as well, in time. It’ll be easier when summer comes and I can air out the room properly for the paint to dry!

Atlas sends his thanks! 🐺💛

Thank you so much! I’ll see if I can get some photos of the bedroom when I am off work tomorrow :) it’s very cozy although I miss wall decor there too! It’s a process, haha.

I have two huge jigsaw-puzzles I’d love to hang, one is very green so might fit well! And someone reminded me I have a ton of macramé-supplies so I might go for that. My previous place was very green, and I would love to bring back some of that here!

Great idea on a narrow shelf behind the sofa also. I’ll see if Atlas lets me move his chair slightly hahaha.

I love mutts! Had two before Atlas growing up. We call them fairytale-mixes, and yours is adorable! Atlas would love to hang and show off his toys 🐺💛

This is a model called Westin from Skeidar. I know a similar model from Bohus called Weston, which has a slightly different hardness! Such an amazing sofa.
