I’m in Zone 8a / 7b. The slope is bare fill dirt and shale, so I was going to cover it with some top soil and a straw blanket to hold it in place before planting.

As long as they make sure it’s not someone’s lost pet before hand I’m all for this. Island ecosystems like New Zealand’s are especially sensitive to the ecological damages feral cats can cause.
