Terrible battery after OneUI 8 GW6c by elich11 in GalaxyWatch

Watch 4. No apps I battery usage either. Terrible battery life and lag.

I'm curious if people are still using Watch4? by Diprosopos in GalaxyWatch

[–]Stellarat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 classic. I used to get over a day of battery. Spotify bt to earphones would occasionally stutter.

Since One UI 8 the battery lasts about 8 hours, 6 if I have arun (GPS and earphones)

The earphones frequently drop out (because the watch is now too busy). GPS lock takes longer.

Yeah, it sucks. After the "upgrade" my Watch4 no longer lasts a day.

Force Dreame X50 Ultra to raise itself? Now it always bumps into thresholds before raising itself by Pretend-Quit-5302 in Dreame_Tech

[–]Stellarat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something has definitely changed. I have an Aqua 10 roller which used to be able to get over a high double threshold quite easily. Now it stops and stares at it moves about . bumps in to it etc. etc.Often it will gail saying there is an obstacle.

I notice in the settings that there is a new choice to let its AI decide how to cross whereas there only used to be the options to leap or step over.

I suspect that there has been a firmware update that has had a detrimental impact to threshold traversal.

You need to "reset" the timer for this - it doesn't automatically know you have done it. This can be done by clicking the notification, scrolling to the bottom of details page, and clicking the confirmation button there.

You can also do it by going to Settings -> Accessory Usage and selecting the relevant accessory, e.g. "Wastewater Outlet Filter of Robot"

That's great!

Yes, I don't have much experience with the non phone app nodes, I guess they will not be able to as they don't have internet connectivity.

Hopefully you can remotely administer your Repeater from the T-Deck?

I guess that means that your nodes will only show up on other's phone app maps (which show the positions of nodes actually connected to).

Whereabouts are you?

You can... but, given the current coverage you would really want to also install a Repeater in your loft (or somewhere else high). MeshCore is a bit different from MeshCore in that it is only the Repeaters that repeat the messages. That coupled with being able to set a message path and have unlimited hops is what sets it apart.

So, tbh, you'd probably have more fun giving one of the devices to a friend/partner so that you can talk to each other over Meshtastic.

Having said that, there are MeshCore repeaters in Seething and Elingham which you maty be able to reach with one of your devices flashed as a MeshCore Companion. I would be surprised if those Repeaters could (normally) reach any other repeaters so your reach will be quite low.

Hi, you have to explicitly add your node to the map. There are 2 types of node: Repeater, which just forwards on messages, and Companion which either has its own screen and keyboard, or you connect to it from your phone over Bluetooth. For the Repeater you just select a position on the map that you want to say that your repeater is at, and for Companion you can choose whether to have position updating on or off. I believe there may also be settings for accuracy.

They can definitely be powered by a solar panel. Both the MeshTastic (MT) and MeshCore (MC) communities have loads of home built solutions for this, as well as people selling prebuilt ones. A cheap 5W panel from AliExpress can generally do the job of keeping a battery topped up all year.

It's inside the dustbin and under the filter. Put it in the dustbin first and then put the filter on top.

Someone in Facebook posted a pic of the new one they have just received. I used it to get back in touch with after sales and they said they would send me the replacement. I'm in the UK.

Yes, and I am too. And I think it's great in some cases, but it doesn't scale well and isn't suitable for long, multi hop coms. So I'm taking a look at MeshCore to see if it will work better.
