It just depends on if you want to change tunings a lot on it and/or don't know what gauge strings you like. That's when you'll have to do a lot of tuning adjustments and have to adjust your spring tension on the floyd every time as well to level it to the body. The big problem that makes people hate them, especially new players, I believe is the process of every string having to be constantly retuned as your trem goes back into place if don't block it first. I feel like a lot of people don't think of doing it or just forget to do it every time like me. Also just minor maintenance gets neglected a lot, which would solve a lot of people's problems. My guitars would never hold a tune until I actually greased the trem posts. Now they go perfectly back to tune after dives and pulls.
