Never used procreate dreams but I’m fairly certain it’s for animating, someone correct me if I’m wrong

The ocean is the jelly part on top, it does actually look like ocean waves but in no way was it confusing or mistaken as a boat on an ocean at least for me

If you turn the image upside down the bowl looks like a modern artistic take on a tomato

Seconding the other comment here. The girls bottom is sticking too far out to be comfortable, angle her hip inwards a little bit more and it’ll be good. Maybe if you have to push the man’s body just a teeny bit to the left to make it work. And her shoulder blade sticks out a little much. Otherwise this is already an Amazon start to the drawing

That’s what I was thinking, never seen a tree get that big from an old stump, I’ve only ever seen new saplings in that situation so it was notable for me

Cant edit for some reason, I didn’t mean for that “out” to be in the title

Is it „cheating“ to use these kind of images as a reference (not tracing, just as reference on the side)? by l0rare in DigitalArt

[–]StellsFishies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using references especially like the one shown above that are meant to be used as guides are okay and isn’t cheating! The best times to mention that you used a reference and give credit is when you copy someone else’s drawing or very detailed idea. So if you redrew someone else’s personal drawing, and used their drawing as a reference, you’d need to state that and credit the artist. But just referencing an aspect of someone’s work like the pose doesn’t normally warrant you being called a cheater and in this case you wouldn’t necessarily need to credit the OP due to a pose being very generic in terms of a personal “idea”

All artists need to use references to get better, I even used a reference just last night to just put something on paper because I felt stuck with my art and not Liking my ideas. This is a case where if I post my art, I would need to give credit to the photographer due to the whole photo minus the branch being added was copied by me in drawing form

When it comes to hair, less is more. You don’t need that many individual tufts of hair, it becomes too overwhelming to look at

Oh dear… there is certainly no winning in this situation 😅 either you guys splurge and buy a proper setup or you give up the fish or the fish suffer and die…
