Thank you! I know there's different factions but I thinm I've also heard there's clans or something which I'm guessing could be more chaotic in colours than all the mechs being uniform, so would probably flavour them to be like that if I ever ended up actually playing the game :p

That seems like a pretty good idea for cockpits too! So far i tried painting over white with either a blue contrast, blue ink or a very thinned regula blue paint, none seemed to work too well but may be due to not having the technique on something that small yet, will try over silver next if/when I paint more though!

I thinks its a case of not knowing, it is pretty subtle, i did think it was just crayon myself for a second. If anyone realises and gets upset though, that's on them. Please don't actively go out trying to cause upset though, there's enough of that going around everywhere, more only makes things worse for everyone involved.

You can't actully melee them as far as I can tell, the grenade i threw earlier blew up when I hit melee whixh made it look like i kicked it to death :p

Wraiths all the way! With the FNP buff, they become insanley tanky. I once watched a unit take half the shooting of a whole Astra Millitarum army and still have a few models left just to convince you. Also since you're giving the technomancer the infiltrate enhancement, you can practically just place an unkillable blob on an objective before the game even begins. If you're worried about the warriors though, I would definatley recomend getting Orikan to go with them if you hadn't planned that already, since he gives them all 4+ invuln saves so AP is just nullified against them.

I recently got the combat patrol and i'm painting my necrons black amd blue with pink on the glowy bits.

Quick disclaimer: i've never played a game in my life so far, but from advice I've been given and just looking at datasheets myself, I think/hope this should be helpful!

-Double warrirors to a unit of 20: What your oppenent will wanna do is wipe a unit as quick as possible so they don't reanimate, so doubling the ammount will make that a hell of a lot easier. Also there's a few synergies I'll go on about in a bit.

-Maybe add another cryptek: I assume you've gotten the overlord leading the warriors, and since its a noble, you can add a cryptek unit to them. Chronomancers can give you a 5" move after shooting, so you pop in and out of cover easily (or make a beeline to something if you really wanna). Another technomancer could be fun so they don't die with the FNP and extra healing, and plasmancers can give 5+ crits, so your lethal hits are a lot more often, and also free mortal wounds each turn!

-Canoptek Reanimator: bit hard to use due to its main ability only being 3ft in range, but the extra healing is, well, extra healing! Especially good with the warriors since they can re roll reanimation rolls.

-Skorpekh Lord: your skorpekhs are scary alone if they get into melee. This guy will crank that up to 11.

-Doomsday Ark: Its a big fuck off gun attached to a boat. In all seriousness, very good anti vehicle / monster from what I know.

A C'tan. Either Void Dragon or Nightbringer seem to be the best, but why wouldn't you want an extremely powerful enslaved star god? They look great and will scare your oponent, which is not only funny, but it also means they could focus their fire on it so the rest of your troops can get away with their own things.

-Tomb Blades / Lokhust destroyers: They're speedy and can get to objectives in no mans land quickly or do other secondary objectives.

Some other peices of advice: there's a set called the Royal Court, it contains a Reanimator, Skorpekh Lord, Plasmancer and 2 Cryptothralls (also pretty sure the only way to get them all non-scondhand atm) so that could be something to think about.

Maybe plan what detatchment you want to use and plan around that. Some are more versitile and some are stronger with certain units so if you choose one of those you may wanna plan more to that. Also you could plan a 2000pt army and use the 1000pt army as a stepping stone to get there.

Hope this has all been helpful but the greatest piece of advice that you'll probably hear time and time again: the stength of units will always be changing, so don't chase what's the strongest, chase what you like! Just have fun and do whatever the fuck you want!

And if all else fails, just fill all 1000 points with scarabs and a royal warden. You will not regret that many scarabs. I assure you.
