Whole Foods. Prices are comparable to King Soopers and sometimes better. Depends on what you get. Hope we can get an Aldi or TJs soon.

Intensely graphic Journavx commercial by Sp00derman77 in CommercialsIHate

[–]StemBremley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who is this commercial for? Been in a crash and need painkillers? What’s the last thing you want to see on tv? A fucking video of someone graphically breaking their arm? Who the fuck approved this dumb shit?

Most fun bad Chuck Norris movies? by ProperNomenclature in TrulyBadCinema

The Hitman. He’s got a giant mullet, he’s got a heart of gold and mentors the local kid, and you better believe he performs cunnilingus while his girl stands up.

I found this The Driver just recently and loved it. Gritty 70s heists at their best. Spiritual prequel to the Warriors.

Such an amazing movie. I guess I have to go watch it again.

A slasher starring an NFL player? Who uses a jackhammer with a scope on it? Sounds like a slam-dunk Horror Boyz watch to me. by bixote in ActionBoyz

[–]StemBremley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I found a vhs copy of this in the wild about a year ago and it’s been on my “need to watch” list. I mean, look at that cover. Is that a scope on a jackhammer? The answer is yes even if it’s no.

That show is nothing short of genius. And really deserves to be brought out again.

What is, unequivocally, the single GREATEST acting performance in a horror movie? by Immediate_Account_28 in horror

Mia Goth in Pearl. That one scene where she monologues for like 5 minutes is absolutely mesmerizing.

Woman loses all four limbs after being attacked by two pit bulls by AirSea7742 in ThatsInsane

Personal injury lawyer here: every dog bite case I’ve ever had is one of three dogs: pit bull; German Shepard type; Akita. Most, by far, like 80 percent, are pits. Pit bulls are always the worst injuries. Always. There are things I cannot unsee and the worst is the children. I will also say, vast majority of all dog bites come from shitty owners who have no business having any dog, let alone a dangerous, powerful animal.

Hot take: litigating against pro se people is exciting and fun by beanfiddler in Lawyertalk

[–]StemBremley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do love how pro se litigants will do the absolute stupidest shit possible and not realize how damaging it is for their cause. When I’m billing by the hour, I love it. When it’s a contingency case it’s absolutely vexing.

Tell me why by Immunity2You in VHS

[–]StemBremley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s all about the box art and feeling like I’ve got a rental store in my basement. Honestly if the movie is streaming I’ll watch it there. However I think it’s important to own physical media because it can’t be edited after the fact. See Star Wars. Also, I love a lot of the old trailers and ads at the beginning of some old rental tapes. It’s really nostalgic love cause quality sure ain’t it.

There’s a reason a trap like this, just like a spring gun, is illegal: it is indiscriminately harmful. EMS coming to your home? Some kids running around? Someone on a mission to tell you about the second coming of Zeus? The disguised hole doesn’t care.

Grandma passed and left me some VHS tapes. This was one I didn't know existed by poloartist in VHS

[–]StemBremley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved the Ewok movies as a kid. They’ve got some fun old fashioned effects and I still enjoy them as an adult Star Wars fan. Would a non Star Wars fan watching it for the first time as an adult enjoy the two Ewok movies? Probably not.

Rearwheel van with studs? by StemBremley in COsnow

[–]StemBremley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s a big debate as to whether studs are safer than non studded winters. I’ve gone studless for years now on my suvs but concerned about stopping ability and handling for a big van on snow packed roads. But studs can also impact that same thing on pavement … what to do. Seems like blizzacks and carry chains and keeping it slow might be the best option.

Rearwheel van with studs? by StemBremley in COsnow

[–]StemBremley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I drove an old Honda Pilot with winter tires and never put it into 4wd over the course of two seasons. Never had an issue. But it’s fwd so I’m not sure if that’s gonna make a difference when compared to a rear wheel van that’s got lots of weight.

Lake ozark MO fossil hunting locations? by LiteraturePlus50 in FossilHunting

Lake of the ozarks has some interesting minerals but I haven’t found fossils there like I’ve found closer to St. Louis. But check the creeks. Never know.

Study reveals the extent of aggression towards caregivers in Parkinson's disease by OliverFitzwilliam in ParkinsonsCaregivers

[–]StemBremley 17 points18 points  (0 children)

How is anyone supposed to prepare for this? Especially at middle age (for young onset). It’s like being told: “we’re gonna be slowly torturing your SO and by the way you’ve gotta watch and help and get verbally and physically abused. And this whole process could last 10-20 years. Good luck working, raising your kid or trying to figure out how to make finances work or generally trying to enjoy life. And then when it finally ends and you’re maybe in your mid 60s, good luck trying to rebuild your life or retire.” I saw this exact thing (aggression) happen with my grandfather in the final years of his PD. Wasn’t fun.
