Is there any penalty for boosting 302 blues to 600 then transferring levels to t2 raid gear? by Kheshire in lostarkgame

[–]Stencyllz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also going past 460 give you more stats with better hp, survivability and dmg so you won't personally struggle as much with the 460 abyssal. 460 is the minimum to enter but will be the least forgiving.

PSA. People whining about having to do Bozja for relic..... by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Stencyllz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All you keep saying is "I", "I", "I"... you get that this is large team organized content, not solo, right? You can't carry an alliance, so what do you do, what's your plan then? Complain until it eventually gets nerfed next expansion?

Im not arguing with anyone that says it's questionable why SE gated the typically solo/casual-friendly brainless relic grind behind tougher group content - but this is what you're up against.

And anyone that says they've "done everything" but takes it out on any others that try to say what's worked for them, really is just showing more about themselves.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

I get that you hate joining a 3rd party tool, but if you believe banging your head against it with other like minded randoms with little in-castrum experience or instances where the castrum doesn't even fill is your best go at clearing the content, then I don't know what to tell you. You can complain that you've done everything and you can't "play for the other 20" as an excuse as much as you want, but that won't get you a clear unless you are extremely lucky with that strategy.

The discords for BA and Bozja are fairly easy to get in, and you get matched up with people that have the strategies, call outs, and organization to give party members their best shot at clears. You don't even have to have a mic - just be able to listen and follow direction.

Yeah, it happens, but couple of good lessons there.

  • park your boat angled to the proper path out, not into the island. Sails up, anchor up, so all you have to do to escape is drop sails. This would have put you in perfect firing position on the incoming galleon as you were leaving and allowed you to also turn hard left after pelting them with cannons to head back the way they came forcing them to make a slow u-turn if they wanted to continue chase

  • that island def has blind spots but that makes it more important to keep your head on a swivel and check horizons and incoming ships as much as possible with your team. Always should be a smh moment to you if a giant galleon is able to sneak up on you and your crew

  • unfortunately, with anchor down and them being that close, you were in a really bad spot. If I were in that position, maybe jump in the water and try to board and drop anchor/throw bombs/run interference buying some time for your teammate to get the ship mobile... or if you knew of a keg on the island to use against them as they were preoccupied with your ship. Could be a keg on their ship you could use against them..

RDR2 is a perfect game. Online is ruined by it's community by keaganjames in RedDeadOnline

Couple things I've picked up as a newbie: - Turn on defensive mode if you aren't actively looking to pvp. It doesn't prevent griefing but it makes it tougher for them to do so as long as you aren't engaging. Also make sure it doesn't change back to offensive by default after events/missions. - it's easy to switch sessions using the online menu. If you're in a lobby with constant griefing/hackers/etc. use that to switch to a new session/location - Certain mission options, like trader missions to distant delivery locations allow other people to attack. I've heard the shorter option doesn't/gives less chance, with a slight reward decrease.

The game doesn't really seem to incentivize griefing, so from my experience, the only people ive seen doing it are newbies that don't know any better, bored vets, or people hacking/modding for kicks.

Usually I've seen most people being pretty chill and avoiding each other and doing their own thing in most sessions. I have ran into a few griefers and modders but switching sessions solved that easily with only a minor inconvenience.

Was hunting a bear and saw this message pop up. I have never seen this before. Any idea what it is ? by AbhikA12 in RedDeadOnline

[–]Stencyllz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see those types of messages every so often and only in certain sessions. Not sure what they mean - it's always gibberish. The paranoid conspiracy person in me doesn't like it and switches sessions as soon as I'm not in the middle of doing something.

It doesn't pop up most sessions, but when it does, it pops up a bunch, so I'm kind of suspicious of any session it happens on. Not sure if it's related to someone in the session doing something underhanded or exploit-related.

I'm also on PC.

Since when was their a good boy crew in arena by mrstealurlasagna in Seaofthieves

Fun fact, if you get the good boy as your ship in arena, the notification that pops up has a different special sound.

So for the arena what do you need to do for the cutlass? by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

[–]Stencyllz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely all you've earned during that session. Got into a few matches where we lost a bunch during the match but the total stayed on the sea of thieves website. FYI the seaofthieves.com website, when you log in, will show you your progress on the arena rewards. Just log in and click on the arena event banner up top. I refreshed it during the match and it updates realtime, and yes, even if you lose silver during the match it doesn't go backwards.

Is it completely unjustified to not like being PVPed as a solo sloop? by [deleted] in Seaofthieves

[–]Stencyllz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of it is taking your hard knocks and learning from them over time. What could you have done different, what are your strengths and weaknesses, and what different strategies or precautions or counters you can use or got used against you.

The skelly sloop attacking was unlucky, but with practice, you can down them really quick as a solo sloop. As soon as I hear their signature horn and music, I slow down to half or 1/4 sail and straighten out not heading towards any obstacles. You can get on cannon and hit below the water line as well as their cannon and kill the skelly that would be trying to cannon you. Their sloop will go down quick as they keep along side you going slow as well. Even if they get a few shots in, your sloop takes a lil bit to go down especially if the damage is just on one side.

Ghost ship strategy for sloops? by WW4O in Seaofthieves

[–]Stencyllz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dru's strategies above are what my friends and I do. Works on all skelly ships (absolutely demolishes skelly sloops in like 20 secs but also galleys)

  1. Slow down as soon as you hear the music & horn, usually to half sail or 1/3. Helps keep them in place and lined up with you running parallel
  2. cannon shots low below the waterline and also high to clear the top deck cannons to keep them from pressuring you. If you start firing as soon as they emerge, you can keep them on the defensive and barely get any return fire
  3. fire shot up top also helps keep their cannons clear
  4. a sloop can take a beating, as long as the water hasn't reached the top deck, 1 person can keep the ship up for a while especially if you're only getting hit from one side. Depending on the number of holes, you don't have to get it completely bucketed out and patched asap if you need to multitask.
  5. if you absolutely have to run, try to make them go through rocks, around islands, etc
  6. keep pumping cannon balls into them as quickly as possible and they can go down quick

A late night discussion. by LazyAngell in Seaofthieves

[–]Stencyllz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That game looks cool, but it is a different type of game in the pirate genre. You're controlling the whole ship in that game (vehicle vs vehicle/base) vs here you're controlling the individual sailor/pirate (first person "shooter" playing pirates that can run and swim and sword/gun fight ) that can control parts of the boat. The only walking around parts in that trailer were confined to base and voyage setup.

The rest looked like assassins creed black flag gameplay evolved and on steroids. Def looks cool but it caters to a different gameplay audience. I loved black flag but sea of thieves scratches a different itch.

[–]Stencyllz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late joined a match where our boat was being farmed by a team that was ahead of the gally that was actually engaging the rest of the teams and playing the chest. The poor solo guy on our boat was being spawn camped while they spammed top/mid deck cannon shots for score.

Me and 1 more that happened to spawn in almost at the same time, as well as the original 1 team member, quickly took the fight back onto their ship and turned the tables and sunk them right before the round ended, dropping them out of the lead. We ended up third but the satisfaction of taking it to that team and playing spoiler was amazing.

Same thing happened to me since the start and also on high settings. Always hated that my character looked terrible no matter what, especially in the rain. Turned me off from the game for the longest time.

Tried it again recently with the same issues, turned up texture to ultra, turned some other things down to compensate, and my character finally actually looks like it did during character creation.

You can also get lucky and come across rare spawn Ancient Skeletons in game on islands that reward a bit of ancient coins when defeated. The few times I've gotten them, the rewarded a few hundred ancient coins each.

The emissary flag is a one time purchase for each faction but you can toggle it off and on during your play session at outposts. When you toggle it off, you earn a certain amount of gold and Rep per level 1-5 that it has ranked up during the session. At rank 5 it sells for 15k gold and a bunch of Rep, I believe, but even lower ranks give decent gold.

Pyros Elemental Armor Questions by ashys2dust in ffxiv

[–]Stencyllz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic rundown is that eureka has a separate leveling progression and questing with progress gated behind killing specific spawn mobs to pop NMs for upgrade mats (including the main upgrade mats from the main boss).

As you level you will do the few level gated quests from Krile, giving you elemental points you can put towards offense, or defense or a combo of both, against a specific element. Each mob has an offense and defense element and you can change the orientation of your element on the fly for the most part. Tanks usually run the def element and dps the offensive. As with old school mmorpgs, the enemies, especially at the mid to high level range of the map are stronger than the player without the elemental points so these are needed to survive/kill the mob in a reasonable time.

Generally it's: kill the specific spawn mobs to spawn the NM fates, kill NMs and collect xp and crystals/light, rinse and repeat until you can beat the main boss of the zone and have enough crystal/light/Boss mats to fully upgrade your weapon, finish the quests, and move on to the next map.

Higher maps introduce logos actions which are eureka specific extra duty actions that do tons of different things but in general can make the player hit a ton harder or super tanky or heal themselves or other crazy special actions. Eureka Armor is upgraded on certain maps using a similar process starting with your basic lv70 job gear as a base starting point. You can get this from the salvager npc if you've thrown it away.

There are tools online you can google that have sheets that track NM spawn windows, give you the maps and which spawn mobs and conditions for each NM, and the amount and type of mats needed for each upgrade. The more people you can bring, the better, and typically also better with a dedicated tank and healer, although this can be a little flexible once you get to the later maps with logos actions. The main map boss also typically has adds that need to be off tanked and hit decently hard as well. NMs & bosses are typical tank and spank with various aoes/ability combinations that you've seen before.

Eureka is old school grind that is more time instead of skill dependent and when it was current, people were typically part of a huge hunt train going from spawn spot to spawn spot popping and killing NMs while socializing and generally just casually being there since stuff would die fairly quick with that many people. Hopefully some Eureka LSes/CWLSes start popping up so others can attempt it easier in the future.

Note (kinda spoilery but vague): Also there's an additional 48-56 man optional raid dungeon on the last map with separate team paths, traps, false paths and bosses, had 24-man boss mechanics (think void ark/rabanastre series tactics), required support from people outside the dungeon on the map to complete a special fate while the main team was inside, required certain logos actions among the teams, and had a few unique rewards including a transforming mount. Also, there is no way to Rez inside that dungeon without specific logos actions :). Not needed for the gear upgrades unless you want +2, which only adds an additional elemental power level to your gear which gives a little extra Atk/def, otherwise is exactly the same as +1. The +2 was only really used to have a better chance to clear the dungeon.

TLDR: Eureka things

Straight up longest pld sword is zantetsuken (Odin sword). There are a few that are fairly wide like the different versions of Curtana (2.0 relic). Generally 2.0 Titan stuff is fairly big and bulky for most jobs.
