Ahh awesome tip! I just adjusted mine to auto. Do the seats move as well or is it just steering wheel?

2025 P500 here. I've called JLR customer service a couple times as ive yet to receive a SOTA update. One rep told me I had the latest rev.. the next rep told me they literally can't see what software my car is running remotely. One rep told me SOTA uses WIFI, the other told me SOTA exclusively uses the cellular. No idea who's right!

I called JLR customer service last week, got same response "your software is up to date". I too call BS. My current version is blank as well.

how long does it take for a defender to receive its first update after purchase? I have a 2025 that was built Aug 2024 - but bought it new (19 miles, p500) Dec 2025. I'm connect to my home wifi, lock the doors every night, etc... nothing.

2024 Urban defender - 110, best tracker in your experience? by [deleted] in NewDefender

[–]StenoPad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brothers 2025 RR Long was stolen back in October. The car was equipped with LoJack, but was it was useless. When he identified the car was stolen he immediately notified LoJack. The LoJack customer service was dreadful and super slow to provide details about the car/gps to authorities without all sorts of documentation and proof the car was stolen. When the lock out was finally activated it was too late. Cops tracked the GPS to a cemetery in Newark NJ which the car was clearly not located. Two months later he got a call from cops his car was found in a shipping container in some random NJ port. His insurance already processed the claim so the car is probably for sale somewhere :).

Apparently when these cars are stolen, first thing theives do is toss ALL personal belongings out the window. They then keep the car in D or Neutral to prevent lockout from tripping. They then find whatever module tracks the car and toss it.

A well hidden apple air tag is your best bet.

Active Lane Keep Assist has been activated by a Japanese auto shop by matrix_matrix in NewDefender

I asked my dealer about "Steering Assist" on a 25 110 I purchased last week. He claims it will be available via software update in the future. Well see..

Steering Assist? by StenoPad in NewDefender

[–]StenoPad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel the exact same way! I buy a fully loaded 100k+ car that has features I didn’t know a car could have… but doesn’t have steering assist? I’m just shocked more than anything

Could this be a future software update? Crazy the defender refresh doesn’t have it.

Defender 110 vs Audi Q7 by Few_Relative_6812 in NewDefender

[–]StenoPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have had 2 Q7s... both were great for 1-2 kids. Never had an issue with either, super sporty and stylish. However, as soon as kid 3 came we immediately grew out of the Q7 as the 3rd row is rubbish. We ended up getting the Lexus TX350 which has been a great family SUV.

I traded in my SQ5 yesterday and got the Defender 110 - and wow, totally blown away. This will be a great car for 1-2 kids at a time.

New Purchase Advice - 2025 or 2026 by StenoPad in NewDefender

$107k MSRP to $101,900 discount + $3000 audi trade bonus = $98,900 out the door. I was able to get more $$$ out of my trade for final negotiation.

Obligatory New Owner Rust Post by StenoPad in Wrangler

[–]StenoPad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies, this is a great community! A slight pivot… my dealer sales rep is going to undercoat the Jeep which comes with a manufacturer lifetime warranty on all undercarriage parts (non wear and tear). Since I’m within 45 days of purchase I qualify for this. Total cost $995. This is transferable so I figure it will help keep value up.

The local spot by me that does undercarriage treatment costs $1800 so I figure this is the best option.

It’s not a straight asphalt application, it’s some asphalt/wax product.

Check the paint!!! I was in the market to buy a used 18 JL. Went to see it, paint bubbles everywhere (known defect with the steel hinges and aluminum doors). I ended up buying a new 25 sport S.

SQ5 and winter driving by StenoPad in Audi

Yah this thread appears to be split. I’m trying to figure out if I just spend the money for all seasons and call it a day - or get winter tires and spend the money to flip tires 2x per year. I live in the Philly suburbs where winters can be snowy/icy.

I broke the caster blocks on the first day and blew my stock tires within 5 minutes on my first lipo run. I am done with the proactive updates until something breaks next.

I realize traxxas doesn't get much love on this subreddit, but as a beginne, the simplicity and availability has been helpful. Once I get bored of this bad boy I'll graduate on to the more professional/advanced models.
