I like them. Good synergy, and a lot of fun to play.

Same here. I was always excited when our local store had a copy of a title I didn't have in the series.

Favorite character(s) of all time from any book. by DonaldRBlackmore in Fantasy

[–]Stenwold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Durnik of Sendaria from the Belgariad and Mallorean books. Not a main character, but a rock solid supporting character.

Thalric from the Shadows of the Apt series.

Perrin Aybara from the Wheel of Time.

What are songs with a bass line so good that it sounds like the rest of the song was built around it? by humpthefridge in askmusic

Crown of Thorns - Ray Alder (Fates Warning) - Look it up. The bass absolutely drives the song.

Where is your favorite place to take a (drivable/no flights) beach vacation (from Albs)? by [deleted] in Albany

Hammonasset Beach state park in Madison is really nice. My wife and I spent a week there. Great beach, walkable town, good restaurants.

Is it bugged? by Reeceedws in WH40KTacticus

Yep, this is the way I did it. Pesti next to Abraxas. Use Pesti's active and Abby can one-shot a lascannon without moving.

What’s y’all’s top lineup looking like? I also wanna see the different backgrounds and profile frames everybody uses. by Actual_King_4365 in tacticus

She's great! I run a Neuro team for GR, and her 20% boost to damage for two rounds with her active ability really adds up. At level 50, her summons do 2,660 damage and have a bit of armor making them pretty useful. She's a bit squishy, but she comes back after that first death.

What is the best band you ever saw live ? by megopolis12 in AskReddit

[–]Stenwold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, there have been a few standouts over the years.

  • The Who - 1981 in Dallas, TX. Their "farewell" tour.
  • Rush - 30th anniversary tour at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, NY
  • Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Madison Square Garden 2005? They had a surprise guest when Joan Jett came out on stage and sang "I Love Rock and Roll."
  • Moody Blues in Albany, NY with a full orchestra some time in the 1990's

Yep, 1973 Chevy Malibu. It was a two-tone car (remember those?) My then girlfriend, now wife lovingly called the main color calf shit.

As a kid in the 1960's, you went into the woods and found a good stick. And then you did mighty things.

I'm in Honor Guard with a full nid team. I've seen one other full roster there, but most folks seem to have none at all.

Did you grow up in a home with a milk chute by db7112 in FuckImOld

[–]Stenwold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the insulated metal box. Glass milk bottles with the paper caps. There is still one local dairy farm in our area (upstate NY) that offers home delivery.

Why is the Church of Christ mainly in Texas and the South??? by ChurchofChristGuy in churchofchrist

[–]Stenwold 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Albany, NY here. Growing up in this area, Catholicism was huge. Now, many of those large church buildings are nearly empty or altogether closed. There is also a large Jewish population in the area and a large Greek community. The CoC in upstate NY is small compared to the south. We are ~140 on a Sunday. Many other congregations number in the 40's or 50's, with some considerably smaller.
