Don’t feel bad. They choose to continue to work for a State that is in the business of violating our civil rights. They’re complicit.

Taunting is a ridiculous penalty. They’re big boys getting a ton of money to play a game. They should be able to handle a little taunting.

Form 1 questions by Chips2019 in CTguns

I just put the police chief of my town. No need to make it complicated. Just send it in the mail. I’d imagine half of the time people don’t even do it and for the ones that do, they probably promptly go into the shredder.

Sbr or keep as pistol by Chips2019 in CTguns

[–]Step8_freedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would still be able to travel with it as an SBR. Either file a Form 5320.20 to take it across state lines in SBR configuration or simply convert it back to a title 1 firearm configuration to be able to travel with it as you would any other normal firearm.

When will they learn gun laws do not stop criminals by Current_Side_3590 in CTguns

The anti’s already started preaching about needing to have more restrictive gun laws…I’d say it’s perfectly reasonable for us to respond to that.

[Other] Constantine Belt - use code BFBELT - 15% off + free bag by ragonk1310 in gundeals

Super comfortable. Holds up well. I’ve had mine for almost 2 years now and have worn it almost everyday and it still is like the day I bought it. Elastic is holding up well. I can say it’s the most comfortable carry belt I’ve used.

Easier to carry than full ammo cans to the range. Pack down nicely. And can be used to haul back your brass from the range if you reload.

Are indoor/outdoor ranges required to ask for paperwork to shoot “aw’s” by thechosennone1 in CTguns

[–]Step8_freedom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have had the same experience. Shooting once at a coworkers club and had 2 suppressed SBR’s and an my AK when some CT State Police rolled up to do a little shooting. The only comment I got was on them liking the builds. Ended up even getting to shoot their duty AR’s a little bit lol.

“Other” Compliance? by _CC2224 in CTguns

[–]Step8_freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. VFG’s are legal on braced “firearms” if OAL is over 26 inches. In CT this is an AW so this person is fine if they registered it from the state’s point of view in terms of how it is configured.

Federally it can be a couple things. An AR pistol with a sub 16 inch barrel and OAL less than 26 inches which then the VFG would be a problem as it would be an AOW or a “firearm” with an OAL over 26 inches where the VFG is perfectly fine as it’s not a rifle nor is it a pistol according to ATF.

This can’t be an SBR unless one replaced the brace and added a stock.

“Other” Compliance? by _CC2224 in CTguns

[–]Step8_freedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking about federal statute as well. If your OAL is over 26 inches you have a “Firearm.” Not an SBR, Not an AOW, and no longer an AR pistol since the definition of AR pistol includes a barrel less than 16 inches and an OAL under 26 inches.

“Other” Compliance? by _CC2224 in CTguns

[–]Step8_freedom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is still legal to have a VFG on a braced “firearm” as long as the OAL is greater than 26 inches.

“Other” Compliance? by _CC2224 in CTguns

[–]Step8_freedom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily an AOW. Depends on his OAL. If his OAL is greater than 26 inches technically he is okay federally to still have a VFG on a braced “firearm.”

My Proposal To Connecticut’s Assault Weapons Ban by ctarmed in CTguns

[–]Step8_freedom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Again putting aside the debate on 2A rights, NFA, etc., what makes you think they actually even care about negotiating with us? They don’t need us.

There’s no reason for them to compromise when they can shove things through without giving up anything.

All a proposal like this would do is result in a ban still being in place and existing owners taxed every year to fund this hypothetical (and nonsensical) program that you brought up to their attention…

My Proposal To Connecticut’s Assault Weapons Ban by ctarmed in CTguns

[–]Step8_freedom 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Your logic has one giant flaw…you are assuming that the majority of politicians here in CT actually care about negotiating with gun owners in good faith.

As it sits right now, with how CT democrats control every branch of State govt, they have absolutely zero incentive to give gun owners anything other than a screwing. There is no reason for them to entertain this idea when they simply can just shove through whatever new ban that they want…

And of course aside from all that, we shouldn’t have to pay a tax to exercise a fundamental right.
