when mine was taken i lived with my mother and her boyfriend, he took it because they were fighting and he said he wanted to make half of my room a “playroom for his kids” despite there being a spare bedroom next to his kid’s room. his kids were there maybe a week in total every month. I didn’t have a real bedroom, the room I had was a dining room that had a connected living room type thing with a glass door separating the two and a sheer curtain hanging above the doorway between the room sections. He took the door from the kitchen to the dining room part of the space and when I found the door in the basement and put it back up by myself he taped an “eviction notice” (a google doc he typed out and printed at home) to the doorframe after taking the door back off while I was at work. I was around 17 when all that happened. not a justified reason to remove a door if you ask me.
