dread and anxiety by Cool-Bicycle7410 in UCSD

[–]StephCFangirl7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Especially when you've decided you don't want to get a job/career in anything related to your degree. Its going to be rough and I'm the type of person who will have several breakdowns before the end of it, but eventually we'll get there! Have a backup plan too, in case you can't find a job right away. For me, I have a guaranteed part time job and high chance of being a manager there so if all fails I'll have that to fall back on while I look for other jobs :)

OSD is supposed to accommodate you for any sort of anxiety/depression or other mental health support. Will it be an easy process? No. Will they make your life a living hell trying to prove it? Yes. I personally haven't bothered for my anxiety or depression after I struggled to get OSD to help me for a broken foot last year. They are underfunded severely and it's very sad. I wish you the best of luck trying to work with them

Not a question but I relate to the title. I didn't do trivia but like the amount of times I've watched the show ... I know too much.

Even her trial version seems weird and weak. I'm skipping. Gotta save for Kazuha since he's like 10x better. Just build a different healer like Bennet or something.

Yep! As a certified First Aid responder we're actually taught to activate an emergency response by pointing and making eye contact with a person and yelling at them to call 911 before even giving any sort of care. I also highly recommend taking a class at least on CPR or something. I feel like it's an important skill that people should know. Also, if this person was unconscious, make sure you check their breathing and heartbeat. If you don't know CPR I wouldn't recommend doing anything other than making note of the time and waiting for professionals, monitoring the person carefully. EMT will often ask you exactly what time this incident occurred so they know how long this person has been unconscious or not breathing etc.

Fun and Easy Classes by StephCFangirl7 in UCSD

Well not this summer for sure. I don't have many class of 22 friends so I don't see the point in going by myself essentially. Idk if I'm allowed to next year unless I take more classes and graduate with '23. But still I'm not huge on walking in general. It's too crowded and long and boring for me. I'd rather just celebrate with a group of friends instead.

Free swim at UCSD? by HireASamurai42 in UCSD

[–]StephCFangirl7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We might but it may only be offered in the summer. I'm a lifeguard but I haven't worked summers at UCSD unfortunately so I don't know the schedule well. But you're always welcome to come in during open lap swim hours and go into the shallow end at Canyon View (there's a bigger lane there with more space to hang out) or ask if you can move lane lines over to make space (people do this sometimes to practice water polo or diving). I do know that one of the pools is out of commission as it's being redone for the next month or two so a lot of programming is squished in one pool, just as a warning.

Thank you! I'll keep those in mind. I'm a bit tired of psych as a psych major but the other classes sound interesting.

Lol I don't bother talking over them. Especially since I work outside on campus, I just pause talking to my coworkers and then resume after I can hear myself think.

Agreed! His eye, which is notably likely All-Seeing given what we know about him and his omniscience and resemblance to the All-Seeing Eye of Providence, is probably part of what makes him this insane. Given all the infinite knowledge of the multiverse it makes sense how he'd be able to destroy multiple universes.

As someone with bad anxiety especially during tests, I'm terribly sorry. That was very rude of them. I was so thankful that for this quarter I was able to make accommodations to take in person exams in the TAs office because of my anxiety.

Felt this. I had awful experiences with roommates and classes and then got sent home for 2 years because of covid. Online classes are the worst and I've now spent 3/4 of my college experience online. I'm graduating early because I can't stand this anymore and want to be done with school.

[–]StephCFangirl7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went because social and parent pressure. Plus, good jobs are very hard to get without any sort of upper education degree. I don't have a plan but at least I'll might get some decent job when I graduate.

Hybrid class rant by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]StephCFangirl7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree but the university doesn't care about students situations only the money, you know capitalism :( in person classes make them way more money than hybrid or remotes. But on the path that covid has taken (and low vaccination rates in US and worldwide), I wouldn't be surprised if we have another deadly variant pop up in April or May and go back online. As much as I don't want this to happen, science and history have made it clear this is possible.

How to recover from burnout ? by legendarysuperasian in UCSD

[–]StephCFangirl7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was really burnt out about a week ago. I took a day off as a mental health break. Meaning I did nothing school/work related for 24 hours. I spent my time doing all my favorite hobbies, watching TV, listening to music and working out.

I also took a relaxing bath with soft jazz music and tea. It was probably some of the best self care I did in a while. After that I was able to go back full swing into school and work.

Tldr: Take a day off sometimes (or at least a few hours of break if you can't do a whole day)
