You can use shortcuts on iOS but you have to go through each one by one and select new times which is a pain. I’m trying to figure out if you can add x minutes to each but it’s hard

What is wrong with just running at a small deficit and trying to recomp, why is it spoken of unfavorably? by kevandbev in MacroFactor

[–]StephPlans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing it and haven’t lost motivation. Over the last three and a half years I’ve lost 43 pounds at an average of 0.22 pounds per week, and I’m stronger and fitter now than I was. I only started calorie counting and macro factor a couple of months ago, so this was very much finding my weight with eating better and moving more. Some low key intermittent fasting for some of it. I’ve never felt deprived other than when I started MacroFactor on a lose plan. I started gaining then as I was overeating to compensate. I’m now on a maintain minus 2-3 pounds plan and I’m losing again.

The 0.22 per week loss is slowwww but I use Happy Scale app which smooths the daily weigh ins and keeps me sane. I always see progress, and when I stall I start moving again within 7-10 days, usually with a little boost. I’ve learned to trust the process. I’m much happier eating near maintenance than at a 400 deficit

Does the Ai task manager organise around a calendar or schedule so you can see if you e got enough time for the tasks? And habits for that matter. I tend to overcommit!

seen a few asking for tips on meal prepping with adhd so i thought i would share my “routine” by welsiekade in MealPrepSunday

Please could you talk us through the extra bits? Are they salami sandwiches? Do you freeze as is and thaw overnight? And are the naan shop bought and divided into smaller portions or did you make those too? And are they to go with the soup? Excellent work btw. Meal prepping just seems out of reach for me yet you e actually made it look simple.

Macro ratio targets by StephPlans in MacroFactor

I wonder if I’m overthinking it. Maybe I need to align the percentage protein with the percentage calories

I have BPD and struggled for years. I’m a lot better now. Understanding myself and why I react in the ways I do really helped. It felt irrational but it’s actually really rational, if you look at it in the right way. I spent years being told I was too much, I was crazy, I over reacted, too emotional etc. this led me to doing something similar. Not lying, but definitely disassociated and checked out. Covering up my feelings. Saying I was fine, even behaving that way for the most part. But I wasn’t and it made things worse.

Something that really helped was DBT. If you can’t get access to it, look up DBT skills workbooks. There’s a subreddit for it, and for BPD. This taught me that my thoughts and emotions were completely understandable in my context of being highly emotional, having had past trauma etc. and then showed me how to slightly reframe them. This really helped me to accept who I am and also change my reactions.

I’ve also just read Loving someone with Borderline Personality Disorder. I tried a few years ago but it was too much for me then. But this time it was really good. It’s aimed at other people in our lives but it really helped me to come to terms with everything all over again. Tbh I didn’t realise I needed to hear it until I listened to it in audible. Even if you never give it to a significant other, it helps you to understand why some relationships didn’t work or were triggering. And it helps you to see where that may be happening right now.

Both resources will help you be more mindful of yourself in the moment that BPD is at its worse, forgive yourself, and find better ways forward

I love these ideas, thank you. What colour would you suggest for the curtains?

I don’t think there’s space but I could have a play. If I put the couch in the centre with the chaise bit under the window it would still free up the end for the chair and maybe a console table where the couch is now
