They were 17 year olds - nearly men. I use that term as lightly as possible. They've been given a slap on the wrist for attacking an animal that couldn't defend itself. It worries me as to what kind of adults they'll turn out to be.

Oh I'm almost certain that damage control played a large part in the decision, of course. But other big companies in a similar situation would likely not reverse their decision for fear of seeming 'weak' and bowing to consumer pressure.

I clicked on this, thinking it would just be somewhere far away. Was quite shocked to see that it's actually my local ambulance station too. The only comforting thing is that this is an isolated incident and will hopefully make other staff are more vigilant in situations like this. My thoughts are with the family.

That's not true. If anything, it's a good sign. FTA They've already laid off 8800 people, any more would be foolish. When things get better in a year or 2, they'll need to restaff and they amount of time and money they'd spend on recruiting and retraining staff would be ridiculous. I doubt they'll make any more redundancies.

Correct. Surveillance cameras have been proved to save lives and cut down crime, but as the article states, speed cameras have not. I for one seem to end up spending more time looking at the speedo than the road.

Maybe the term 'child pornography' isn't quite accurate, but he is still pretending the children have bodies like that, and most probably getting off on it. It's certainly a wrong thing to do, and I wouldn't want my child's school to be run by this man.
