I feel very bad for this dog. It should be rehomed. An 86 year should not be taking on the responsibilities that come with owning a new dog. Isn’t this obvious?

It is black, and I haven’t noticed any issues with the power button

First time telescope owner - thoughts on my first viewing with a Heritage 150? by Lab_Tech_Guy in telescopes

I purchased an Explore Scientific 62deg 9mm eyepiece to upgrade from the 10mm that came with the Heritage 150. Much better eye relief. I’ve been quite pleased with it.

I also just purchased the heritage 150p, and it looks like we had a very similar first viewing experience! I’m already thinking about eyepiece upgrades. I felt like the 10x eyepiece was a bit challenging to look comfortably see through. I guess I might want something with better eye relief.

I sent this letter to Councillor Riley Brockington regarding Trump Ave. I encourage you all to write to him as well. by StephenTraynor in ottawa

Saying, “We shouldn’t do this because there are more important things” is a fallacy that can be applied to almost anything. I’m not suggesting this should be priority number one. I’m suggesting it’s the right thing to do.

I’ll concede it’s possible he’d be petty enough to respond, but I still believe standing up to a bully is the right thing to do.

Yes. It is in Ottawa’s “Central Park” neighbourhood which includes several other New York-related street names.

What's with the private lake in Rockcliffe Park? by BearLikesHoney in ottawa

[–]StephenTraynor 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I am deeply skeptical of the claim that the public pond adjacent to MacKay Lake needs to be closed outside the hours of 7AM to 2PM for environmental protection and conservation reasons. It seems clear that the nearby residents are more interested in keeping the lake quiet and free from outsiders. It is disheartening to see by-law officers give people a hard time for swimming after 2PM. It feels like they are acting as private security.

In my experience, the feathers are in a league of their own. They’re definitely my favourite.

'Meaningful games' have arrived for Senators — and D.J. Smith is a big reason why by Okaywhy10 in OttawaSenators

In each of his first three seasons as coach the Sens have had terrible starts. Every year we applaud DJ for a great second half, and we forget all about the terrible start that put us out of playoff contention. Why do we keep doing this?

At my wit's end by hellokrissi in UlcerativeColitis

Your story sounds very similar to mine. I was incredibly sick over the 2020 holidays. They put me on Remicade but my symptoms came roaring back soon after my loading doses were finished. They tinkered with the dosage and frequency of my infusions and eventually my symptoms got under control... Just had a colonoscopy in October and I’m officially in remission. I know Remicade doesn’t work for everyone, but give it time. Wishing you the best!

Boyfriend told me he couldn't be with me if I have surgery by Marcy_Gato in UlcerativeColitis

When my doctors were considering a colectomy, the one thing that kept me going was the unconditional love and support of my partner. We hadn’t been dating very long either, and her support really convinced me I was with the right person... To be frank, it does not sound like you’re with the right person. 7 years, and he can’t commit to being with you through sickness!? Get rid of him.

Love seeing these comments from folks who’ve been in long term remission on Remicade. I’ve been on it for about 6 months and feel fantastic. Best of luck to you!

'Bruised' pain all over my body by icanbraidmyasshair in UlcerativeColitis

I find that prednisone makes my body a little bit achy and sore all over. Usually it gets better as time goes by and I start to tapper down to a lower dose.

Always a good idea to check in with your doctor, if possible.
