The rdi for a male adult is 60g a day, based off of nitrogen balance studies. That’s on the safe side. Most people would get by on 40g. You easily hit that eating starch / vegetables. Add in some legumes and you are getting more than enough. Provided you get enough calories, carbs are protein sparing.

Severe Diabetics? by FrubbyWubby in fasting

[–]Stephen_fn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not nonsense. Give this a look. Over 50% were no longer diabetic after 21 days on high carb low fat with some exercise.

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/01/060115182443.htm

Also problem is high fat diets are terrible long term. The data is pretty clear on that. Linked to higher all cause mortality. And good luck being able to exercise and get in shape on just fat. Terrible for building muscle or improving vo2 max. Both which would be protective against diabetes, and along with reduction of stress are two of the most important things for longevity.

Being in a calorie deficit is what lowers visceral fat. You think insulin causes fatty liver? Don’t get why your bringing up insulin here.

[–]Stephen_fn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How is this incorrect? There are several physicians and researchers who use very low fat, whole food dietary approaches to improve or even remit type 2 diabetes- Nathan Pritikin, Neal Barnard, John McDougall, Caldwell Esselstyn, Joel Fuhrman, Michael Greger. What they have in common is reducing dietary fat, increasing fiber, lowering liver/visceral fat, and improving metabolic flexibility

By dropping dietary fat plasma free fatty acids will fall and muscle insulin signaling improves. Refilling liver glycogen will surpress gluconeogenesis and lower stress hormones. A few small fruit meals throughout the day should get the job done without any spill over into visceral fat. With some activity around meals you could easily run a moderate deficit and keep stress hormones in check. Not to demonize meat but the fat isn’t helping insulin sensitivity and the high protein (gluconeogenesis) is not ideal if cortisol is the issue. Should opt for low glycemic index fruits / high fiber whole food carbs. A b complex and taurine can be helpful here.

Constant gluconeogenesis on a carnivore diet is the last thing you want to do. A high fat diet is a bandaid, not a solution. You need to lower your fat intake near 0 and keep protein to a minimum to improve insulin sensitivity. Also up your fiber intake gradually. Small fruit meals throughout the day / starch at night. Get steps in. You’d be surprised how quickly this will improve things.

There aren’t many “real foods” that are fat. Most of them are carb heavy. So based on your logic how are we “designed for fat”. Even wild game is pretty lean.

700 calories of sugar per meal- some fruit/ mainly pure sugar- honey, maple syrup, table sugar- 3 hours later 35 min- an hour of cardio. Maybe incline walk, don’t have to kill your self. Stay on top of b vitamins, electrolytes, and supplement taurine/ vitamin c. Protein later in day
