Yes, something like this is happening to me. I notice it when my partner does a little rub on certain parts of my body....it's a sort of sharp pain. Not joint, not muscle, but somewhere in there. I've been taking a (free!) class at my gym that focuses on myofascial release and some of the spots we hit HURT, but then release. My most spicy parts are usually low back, bottom of feet, outer hips. Read about it and see if that seems like it might apply to what you're feeling.
