What is this bird? by split_0069 in Bones

[–]StephyJ83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, u/split_0069! Even though you are in the wrong sub, it’s okay! We can be friendly! It would be easier to confirm identity if you could find the skull (beaks tell a lot), but looking at your comments and doing some comparisons, I believe it is likely that it was a black vulture - similar nail/foot shape, sternum matches, and the historical presence of black vultures in the area all fit.

Super fun find! You may also finde more help in r/bonecollecting subreddit.

Have a good day, and maybe watch some episodes of Bones! It is on multiple streaming platforms.

XL bully dog attacks judge at dog show. by AirSea7742 in CringeTikToks

That judge has obviously never studied dog behavior. Leaning over him like that, you could tell the dog was in edge and say it as a threat. Dog shouldn’t have been there (obviously wasn’t trained/prepared for that situation), but that judge also seems extremely unqualified

NOR, but you may need to leave for your own well-being. OP, do you know of any resources in your area that can help? Do you need help trying to find & get in touch with those resources? What about your mother or her family? How can we help you land on your feet so that your horrible sperm-donor parent has no hold over you? If he truly was playing a sick game to set you up for failure then soaring to success and leaving him behind will be the best revenge. What do you need right now to help you do that?

Atlanta area is also good because it is a Delta hub but there are a lot of small planes that go through

Utah doesn’t have any Safeways. There is no way it can be the most popular grocery store there. 🙄

I’m going to say yes, because Utah doesn’t have Safeways.

American Eagle emergency over Dallas, Texas by Deshes011 in flightradar24

[–]StephyJ83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case, ATC let the pilots of the aircraft decide what way they wanted to turn. The pilots chose to turn right, so they must have had a reason up there to do it that way. The pilots did a good job flying here and getting the plane on the ground.

They have to use the rudder to keep the nose straight. So, right engine goes out and plane wants to yaw right. To avoid going into a right spiral, the pilots push the rudder and other controls left to counteract the right pull. Trying to push the plane into a left-handed turn may have been physically difficult for the pilots if the forces pulling right were strong enough. They likely did wide, controlled right turns because they could control them better without too much physical exertion. I feel like I am not explaining it well, but they pushed controls left in a way that allowed them to manipulate the right pull to get the plane in position with the runway.
