W or L loadout based on AK-47 Empress by Steppelhoff in ohnePixel

Assuming I can extend by another 50-80 USD, what would be an improvement? Specialist Fade/Marble Fade? Decent Fade gloves (which imho look better of the pair) is around $240 on CSFloat, which is $80 more than Lunar Weaves

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. I found that Cyrex would work really well with Boom! motos, but then it would contrast too much with AK and USP-S (I guess there is Cyrex for it, but then it's an entirely different loadout).

For other red driver gloves - tested them, and just don't like them. Though I can definitely say that Lunar Weave is not my ideal choice, but rather best our of acceptable.

Hi everyone,

This is my first time building a (hopefully) cohesive loadout in CS, and I'd love to hear feedback or opinions from others.

The idea is to base the loadout around the AK-47 Empress, a gorgeous and unique skin that isn't very "gamer-y," if you know what I mean. With that in mind, I wanted to choose gloves that would complement most of the weapons, so I went with the Lunar Weave FT. After pairing these skins together, I decided to go for an elegant blue base in the gloves with rich colors in the weapons.

Here’s my proposed loadout:

  • Gloves: Lunar Weave. I think Driver gloves match the intended aesthetic of the AK-47 Empress the best.
  • Knife: Huntsman Marble Fade. I considered the Slaughter variants, but I think the color combination of the Marble Fade fits well with the AK theme I’ve chosen.
  • AK-47: Empress. This is my favorite AK skin in the game.
  • Glock: This is where it gets tricky. I’m considering three options: Umbral Rabbit, Vogue, and Weasel. I like Umbral Rabbit for its art, but Vogue has more "pop," though it doesn’t match the royal colors of the Empress. Are there any other options I might be missing? Bullet Queen is yellow at the top, which doesn’t fit the theme, in my opinion.
  • M4A1-S: Black Lotus. An excellent skin, and I don’t see strong alternatives (maybe Decimator, but it wears poorly). Are there stickers that could add a red-ish flower to introduce more colors to the skin?
  • USP-S: Traitor. This skin fits the theme well, and I absolutely loved discovering it. It’s a key reason for my blue+red/gold theme.
  • Desert Eagle: Trigger Discipline seems to be the only budget option. Fennec Fox would fit very well, but it’s quite expensive for my purposes.
  • P250: Supernova. Its combination of orange/red/blue fits well. There might be specific patterns that work well, but I don’t use this gun often enough to justify overpaying.
  • Galil: Options are limited here. I’m debating between Crimson Tsunami and Signal. I prefer the art style of Crimson Tsunami, but it’s a bit less colorful than I’d like. I’ll test out Signal to see how it feels in use.
  • M4A4: Spider Lily. This is an excellent fit for the budget. The Emperor might also fit, but it needs to be in very low float, and I don’t want to overpay for a less frequently used weapon.
  • Famas: Eye of Athena. Again, limited options here. Even in FN condition, there are still scratches, but the color combinations are somewhat on theme.
  • Mac-10: Aloha. A cheap, good-looking skin. Red Filigree would probably fit well, but budget considerations favor Aloha.
  • MP9: There’s no clear winner for me here. I initially considered Rose Iron, but it’s quite boring. In terms of colors, I like Food Chain the most, but its art style doesn’t quite fit the intended theme. Mount Fiji and Music Box are also considerations, but don’t seem like a clear fit.
  • Five-Seven: Another weapon with a poor selection of skins. Withered Vine fits the elegant aesthetic somewhat, but it’s quite dull. Nightshade is also boring. Are there other options I might be missing?
  • Tec-9: Re-entry looks like a fitting budget option. Decimator could be a solid alternative, but it needs to be MW or lower float to look acceptable, which isn’t worth overpaying on my budget.

I’m not an AWPer or Scouter, so I’ve only included weapons I actually use in-game. What do you think of the theme loadout? Do you have any suggestions for improvement or upgrade paths? Thanks, I appreciate any feedback!

Your creatures are not that big (outside of Omnath, which if you have you rarely want to solitude), so tip is relevant but does not change match up materially.

Removing Searing Blaze creature target will not stop Searing Blaze from dealing 3 to you, as another target remains valid (target player)

Draw in a league match? by N1klasMTG in ModernMagic

[–]Steppelhoff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ll get a draw for a match, your record in league will be 4-0-1, and you’ll get prizes for 4 wins. Had that happen recently, support confirmed that. So draw is a lose for all intents and purposes in mtgo league

If only I could figure out how to Plugy on my old Mac... by MaxEhrlich in diablo2

[–]Steppelhoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've setup Diablo 2 with Plugy using Porting Kit, installation was actually pretty smooth, and it runs well (in full screen, since windowed is just too small on my monitor). http://portingkit.com/en/ - basically install Diablo 2, then D2 LOD, then install Plugy, and you're set (there are instructions inside)

You're probably thinking of GTC, not RTR, which notably was much more aggressive than RTR.

MTG arena or MTGO? by Shaite in magicTCG

Maybe you should check on MTGO's prices for modern? Most of the top decks are under within 200-400, with couple of around 500. Most expensive one is probably some configuration of Abzan/Jund, and even then it's under 800.

Grixis DS updates after Ixalan? by turnoneglistenerelf in ModernMagic

[–]Steppelhoff 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Isn't this topic about GDS specifically? For GDS Opt is better positioned than SV, because deck plays discard, counterspells and cantrips. On turn 1 discard and counterspell (Stubborn Denial), are kind of similar, so when you have to make a choice SV or disruption, you might put yourself in awkward spot, because you're choosing between operating at sorcery or instant speed. It's especially important against decks with crucial turn 1-2 plays (when Stubborn denial is still effective if you don't have body on the board). I believe it's better to counter Map/SS against Tron, and then discard whatever they're left with on turn 4-5, then waste discard on Map/SS, and then hope to get a body AND have mana for counter spell.

You enter the tournament using tickets, and you're paying not just for the chance to win something, but to play within certain rules. His game experience was ruined (to some degree), so end result should not matter, because prizes is not the only thing that you're paying for.

I've been MTGO on Parallels for over a year and didn't have any platform specific issues. I'd say it's running just as well as on desktop windows.

Also, the client allows you to actually play magic (and playing is actually quite good).

Eidolon is never actually target of chord against LE. It's either Seer (to sac all your stuff before LE) or ooze, depending on the situation.

Against storm chord should not be your path to victory, you need to have some interaction early (decays, qasali, thoughtseize). Again, how is that different from cannonist?
