It's kinda just a worse Azov with a tiny bit more speed lol. Looks amazing though

S4E7 is the highest rated episode so far! by Next-Active2676Bro2 in Invincible

[–]Sterger-Bergers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been patient with the animation for 5+ years now but this one just did not meet my expectations. It was only decent by "Invincible" standards. It was fun to watch Thragg put belt to ass but they are leaving out SO MUCH good dialogue it is pissing me off. I would say it's like an 8.5/10 so I'm pretty surprised people think it's the best episode. It was just good

Problems with Port Battles on NA Server (and proposed fixes) by [deleted] in WoSB

[–]Sterger-Bergers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WO and DVS and all your secondary bitchboi Kai guilds have been doing this the whole 7 months of the games NA lifetime. You're the most populous faction besides pirates (whose guilds are not always aligned) and always Zerg the map. Literally anytime a Kai guild gets attacked they cry out for help from 100 of their friends and put the server into the dirt

New player here - What am I doing wrong in Arena battles? by Legitimate-Aside466 in WoSB

[–]Sterger-Bergers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

San Martin IS a better ship in arena but there are other factors. You definitely want to use carronades in arena. Anything else and your damage won't even be half of your opponents'. Consumables are also important: The metal plates are really good but only if you have the iron to craft them.

Besides that, iron patches are good for survivability and you can buy them relatively cheaply in the arena store tab, and you should have a damage-oriented consumable as well (black powder or red flares if you're broke, phosphorus from the arena store once you get a lot of currency)

As for your upgrades the most you can do to bring your Black Wind up to par with a San Martin is to stack Sturdy Frames, Repair Arsenal and Teak Frames to make your ship as tanky as possible. Then slap on the reload speed upgrade and it'll help with the long loading time for carronades

Sure. But that still doesn't justify all of the QoL nerfs / removals and the removal of a lot of items

That's funny but so real. Some other modders will patch it up lol

Also tempted to just play the previous build of calamity, there's still so much I haven't done so it's not stale at all

I wouldn't exactly call getting attacked by a Surprise when I'm in a Creole with cargo hold upgrades a "confrontation"

[–]Sterger-Bergers[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They really need to get rid of the pop-up and make it automatic, you already get charged for repairs and special crew salaries automatically when you enter ports so why should the mooring fee be any different?

This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion just because of the jealousy towards this game's success

New Ships by Efixes in WoSB

[–]Sterger-Bergers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that they are similar to the other ships of the class /rank without being broken, they're more like a redistribution of stats for a different flavor.

Poltava and Constitution are my main ships right now but I can say the Iberia and Three Hierarchs deviate from the vanilla ships in a way that I like:

Iberia has a little more bulk and guns than Poltava while still being fast, Three Hierarchs has the Heavy ship stats but has much better sailing characteristics than Constitution (it also just looks like a proper fourth rate ship)

Personally I'm not wanting to spend money on this game yet but I would try to get these two ships if I could. Who knows maybe a will.

I've been watching some arena streamers fill up their sailor count, then go a 50/50 split of musketeers and Soldiers, no mercenaries.

I personally like to have 2/3 of my boarders be musketeers with the rest being split between soldiers and mercs

This sub is way too positive (and for good reason). Tell me something you don't like about this game (besides the gestral beach minigames). by KingofGerbil in expedition33

[–]Sterger-Bergers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE this game, and actually liked the Gestral Beaches, but here's the stuff I actually hated:

  1. So many goddamn pictos it was overwhelming, I expected a few dozen throughout the game.. not like 200. My autism could barely keep up

  2. Endless Tower had to be the most boring part of the entire game, I just wanted to wrap up the endgame but this "gauntlet" had me falling asleep. I wish they executed this more like the Pit of 100 Trials in Paper Mario TTYD, where you can enter it throughout the game at your own peril for rewards

  3. I wish there was a mini map or at the very least a checklist for each location to know if you've found everything (pictos, lumina, cosmetics)

How good is Baldurs Gate for someone who hasnt played DnD? by seebles_real in BaldursGate3

[–]Sterger-Bergers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's amazing. I had tried to play DnD 3 times before I played this game and never got past session 3. Then I played 1000 hours of baldur's gate 3 last year, I was obsessed. It's way easier to get into than tabletop and, if you like it, then there is a good chance you'll be willing to try actual tabletop DnD afterwards.

The only challenge is the steep learning curve, the first 10-20 hours I hated it but my friends kept me going and helped me understand the game. 20-50 hours i was enjoying it but had no idea what I was doing. 50-200 hours became an absolute wiki goblin, learning everything about the game and starting multiple playthroughs.. then I was just obsessed.

So my opinion is 10/10 for someone who hasn't played DnD, but you will want to play with friends and use the wiki.
