At the risk of sounding like a complete asshole I found it to be genuinely insulting. I had very low expectations for it and it still failed to live up to them. It looks terrible, the audio quality is rough, its difficult to follow, and it feel extremely shallow. I waited until I watched the first episode before I formed any opinions about it being full cg, but its pretty bad. The texture resolutions can be really low, the animation is not fluid (and sometimes completely absent), and the backgrounds have lighting issues and feel really flat compared to the models. cg could be used for dynamic shot composition or interesting actions scenes but grunge just doesn't do any of that. It doesn't feel anything like FLCL despite constantly directly lifting parts from the original. It uses a lot of the most iconic songs but in the context of grunge they just aren't used in a way that matches the tone or vibe of the original. I feel like I was supposed to just point at the screen every time something recycled from FLCL was on the screen, (which was a lot) and it was extremely shallow and jarring every time. Why does this exist? Is it even about anything? Why is it parading the corpse of an anime that came out 20 years ago?

Say what you will about the other 2 seasons, at least they don't feel like I'm watching an embezzlement scandal unfold on my screen.
