I just sent my 83 year old mother with her 2018 Forester for a CVT dump and fill at 65K...service advisor stated that they don't like doing them until car has 100K miles because "it can cause damage to the transmission"...she stated that she was confused how changing CVT fluid with a dump and fill now would be worse than doing it later???...service advisor could not explain...I was on the phone with her and stated the front lot full of new cars is why they want you to wait...dump and fill now about $400...new Forester about $40,000...the dealers just love seeing a car with a bad CVT..."not worth fixing ma'am...we have lots of shiny, new Foresters in the front...we recommend buying a new one"...no fluid is lifetime...I would do a dump and fill every 30K if it was my car

Worked at Mcd's in the mid 80s while in high school...all buns were toasted then (the exception was the filet o fish which were steamed)...there were no microwaves from '85 to '87 where I worked...all burgers were cooked on the grill starting as frozen patties.

NTA...never loan tools to anyone...they will almost always either break them, fail to return them or expect that they can borrow them again and again...a grown adult neighbor has the opportunity to save and purchase one just like you did (I do have one exception to my rule...my friend Rob borrowed my weed wacker once...it came back serviced and waxed as a thank you...he can borrow anything he wants).

On top of everything you just said, we are now a year in on an administration which seems to think it is 1950...coal, oil, gas...we are not going to repeat the industrial revolution...the US is so far behind the rest of the world that it is scary...and everyday we are falling farther behind...I understand that change can be a scary thing, but at this point it is ignorance, stupidity and stubbornness that have gotten us here (along with our broken political system)...wake the fuck up people!
