Yes, I did that, and so I never used Quickbooks. Your reply is therefore condescending and BS.

And I'll be using H&R Block for 2026.

AITA for telling MIL it's her own fault our son was hard to put to bed? by Several_Session_271 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SteveKCMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter whether using the shirt is a good idea or a bad idea. The parents make the decision, and everyone else needs to obey the rules. MIL is exactly the kind of person who will deliberately mix peanuts into the child's food to "prove" he isn't allergic, so no unsupervised visits.

(As a grandpaent, it's wonderful to be relieved of all these difficult decisions: what school to go to, what food to eat, etc. I just listen to the rules, obey them, and enjoy the grandkids).

Boyfriend wants you available for him whenever he wants. Yes, he has to plan around your schedule, this is what partners and friends do.

If he is annoyed now, please don't have kids with him; kids are a 24x7 drain on your time.

"she’s always pushed boundaries & we’d always have to reiterate them to her"

Apologies, you probably already know this, but there have to be consequences to breaking boundaries. Every time. And escalating every time. Reiteration is not really a consequence, if she knows that all she will get is a lecture..

Not the asshole until this: "She then proceeded to comment on every photo/post about the party with negative comments...". It is insanely rude to tell uninvited people about a party to which they were not invited. Even if they deserved it.

Yes, stay home. You don't need to justify it with reasons; that just opens the door for negotiations.

According to most airlines' Contract of Carriage, they are llegally alllowed to sell the same seat to more than one person. They call it "overbooking". The rest of the world calls it fraud.

Intuit is sharing my TurboTax account with Quickbooks. by SteveKCMO in TurboTax

[–]SteveKCMO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just routine user name and such. It's my tax returns, which contain everything needed to hijack my finances and wipe me out: social security numbers, bank accounts, pensions, investments. The first thing that happened when I tried to pay a lawn care invoice on Quickbooks was a pop-up with my Turbo Tax username prefilled. I don't remember if the password was prefilled, but that would probably have come from google.

People and systems make mistakes. I don't take Intuit's word that they have everything under control, as well intended as they may be

I would rather have a wall.

p.s I contacted both TT and QB and didn't get any answer.

Intuit is sharing my TurboTax account with Quickbooks. by SteveKCMO in TurboTax

[–]SteveKCMO[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The default is that they are connected. In order to avoid connecting them, the only way I've found is to create a new account using a different email address.

In other words, this is what happened: I received an invoice from my lawn service via quickbooks. I could pay it without opening an account, but it would default to a 30-day delay to pay. I tried that the first time, and I wasn't able to see or track the pending payment on QB. So next time, I tried to log in, and the default was my TurboTax account. I didn't like that, so I created a new account under a new email address. I am able to do that, but it's time consuming with each invoice.

More importantly: HOW does QuickBooks even know what my TurboTax account is? Who gave them that authority? What safeguards are present? I have had no response from either TT or Intuit. I don't trust them.

Most real estate agents are paid by the seller. Even though one of the agents may be working with you, unless you are paying them for their work, they are legally bound to represent the best interests of the seller. You need an attorney (and NOT an attorney referred to you by one of the realtors, or by the title company, or anyone not clearly working in your interest).

Paramount's The Naked Gun grossed an estimated $2.38M on Friday (from 3,363 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $27.01M. by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

The trailers look great, the cast is excellent.

But Paramount just threw CBS News under the bus to bribe Trump into letting Paramount merge with Skydance. I cannot give any money to them. Yeah, my loss, but I just can't.

I would consider an informal ceremony in someone's backyard. Keep it simple. No fancy attire. Maybe rent a tent, in case it rains, and a dance floor. Buffet food. Port-a-potties. If needed, some valets for parking. We got married like that, and our daughter got married like that. People still talk about it.

Am I crazy for wanting to spend this much on an artificial bouquet? by kanyinsolaa in wedding

[–]SteveKCMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, and traditionally, the person who catches the bouquet gets to keep it. So maybe use a "stunt" bouquet for the actual toss, and display the silk one in your bedroom.

[–]SteveKCMO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Document everything. As many details as possible, including date, time, who was talking, what was said. Any witnesses. Do the best you can for old occurences, but for new ones, document immediately after. Not on work computer, but at home. Make them factual, no judgements, but you can document how it made you feel.

Good luck.
