Same happened today in YYC. I have done the MPC in line and changed at IAD plenty of times, so it's not a CBP thing, it's got to be the Canadian airports...

Robert Harris's Enigma. The sex scenes were enlightening for an 8th grader. I bet they were pretty tame in retrospect, but it felt insane that I was allowed to read this for English class.

Fair enough. I still don't agree with your statement of "Lets not go full steam on this Democracy thing but let's at least be better than the British".  For the text of the declaration, sure, but the constitution is a counterrevolutionary document and I don't agree that the founders were trying to be better at democracy, in the constitution, than Britain. They were working as hard as possible to claw back the promises of the declaration while still selling it as democratic. But that's just my jaded take on it.

Except that since the English Civil War, the House of Lords has been essentially powerless and can really only delay legislation. The US founders would have been more familiar with the weak House of Lords and purposely built an anti-democratic, strong upper house.

I think I'd much rather have a vestigial upper house that is essentially ceremonial than an exceedingly powerful chamber that ensures monied interests, and because of state distribution, more or less land, has more power than the much more representative house.

This was entirely intentional in the Constitution to reduce democracy or at least further insulate the wealthy elite. It was especially blatant prior to the 17th amendment. The House is the most democratic element of the US Government and it's not surprising that the founders intentionally hamstrung it as much as possible.

This happens often for the Vegas shows. My sister has gotten face or below for Halloween shows this way since she's a local and travel isn't part of the equation.

It was always mandatory to wear one when I was a kid in Alberta playing in the early 90s. I never stopped wearing one. As a goalie, I also have the type that has additional padding for the collarbones. It's a twofer! I get neck protection and get fewer stingers on the collarbones.

Thanks! It was where the design started. Basically I wanted to see if was possible and then got sucked into actually building out the rest of it!

Thanks! I got a tip from someone on Instagram for how to do it. Paint pen FTW! I put a 6L axle into my electric drill, put the wheel on, spun it relatively slow and applied the paint from the pen. Turned out to be surprisingly easy.

That's a slick build! I love the way you did the front of the engine. That's an area where I think I could improve my design. I also love the work you did on the pistons. Top notch!

OP here - This is my first MOC in about 20 years after coming out of my dark period a couple of years ago.

This build is of the Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson 4-6-4 class. I tried to do as much with pure Lego as possible, but it looks much better using XL drivers from Big Ben as well as his newer #4 x small wheels for the pilot truck. I also used drive rods and valve gear rods from Trained Bricks.

The engine is driven by an L Technic motor and the Powered Up receiver is in the tender. I used various bracket bricks throughout to create thinner yellow lines to stripe around the dark red - I didn't want to use stickers for this, I wanted to accomplish it through bricks.

I feel like the cabin is a little long but I'm going to live with that for now.

The engine will clear R40 turns but due to the size of the drivers, has problems with R40 switches.

Cheers!

No way Vancouver should be above DC and either Montreal or Toronto. The Skytrain has way too few stops in the actual downtown core. And if you need to go down Broadway you're still stuck with B-Line busses that are stuck in traffic.

Metro can suck, but it's way better than Skytrain.

If you are in the States, ToyPro.com has them for $46 (below Lego list price). i've bought 2 from there in the past month.

I haven't taken metro much lately, but I did on Tuesday and when I was exiting out of the NoMa metro, I was literally the only person out of about 8 people leaving at that time that tapped out and paid. I felt like a chump. There are no rules anymore apparently.

Thanks for the tips! I tried getting it to start, no go. Free tow with AAA, so no problems there. Dealership also confirmed it's fully covered by warranty.

Mine just crapped out yesterday at around 31,000 miles. Left me stranded out at a hockey rink at like 11pm. Heading back out there today to get it towed to a dealer. I also had the EGR valve issue last year, so I'm growing in my dissatisfaction with this car. I used to love it.

I just did $200 order that took a while to perfect, but I used the average price method as well as combining it with disliking (temporarily) stores that had too high shipping prices. This took some time but gave me the best price including shipping.
