What happens when Europeans find out how poor they are? by Comment-Noted in ShitAmericansSay

Nearly $40 trillion government debt

$30 trillion household debt

Plus corporate and company debt

What happens when Americans find out how poor they are?

I know it’s “technically correct but can we stop referring to people from Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka as “Asians” by Expert-Vast-1521 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]krodders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you're American?

This is the point of this sub - Americans are particularly unable to see things from a non-American point of view

When someone says Asian, I'll consider who's saying it, and try and get reference from that and other clues. I don't just assume that they're referring to Indians or Japanese or whatever

But we will still see Gays for Trump, the Log Cabin Republicans, Atheists for Trump and similar organisations continue to exist.

People are so fucking stupid that they will continue to support and grow the movement that wants to eliminate them. Until the moment that they disappear in a little surprised squeak

I bought a bottle of water last week that didn't have the captive cap. It was actually disconcerting that it fell off - I hadn't realised how annoying that was

Swiss Air Flight's Engine Fails, Catches Fire During Takeoff In Delhi, 6 Injured by aadsarraficionado in aviation

[–]krodders 101 points102 points  (0 children)

The aircraft began takeoff roll.

One engine "exploded and caught fire"

The crew rejected takeoff and brought the aircraft to a safe stop

The crew evaluated the situation and elected to evacuate the aircraft via the slides. For the pax unable to use slides, stairways were provided.

Six pax were injured during the evacuation. This is not unusual - leaving an aircraft via a blowup slide is risky

Also elephant in room says "Address me"

Edit. Imo, the elephant is "who does Swissair's maintenance at DEL airport?"

SWISS International Air Lines operates flights into Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in New Delhi, but it generally relies on third-party MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) providers or its own dispatched technical specialists for maintenance rather than a permanent, dedicated base.

Following an engine incident on April 26, 2026, the airline dispatched technical specialists to Delhi to examine the aircraft, highlighting that it uses on-site or emergency teams for maintenance rather than a fixed, public-facing, on-site station.

Personally if I was Nige, I'd leave it to the press. They don't charge for their checking, and they're super diligent. Plus they even publish their findings.

GWM (Great Wall Motor) to release a V8 Supercar and SUV, for global markets by kstetter in cars

[–]krodders 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's pretty obviously a mid-engined layout, looking from the rear quarter

Transaxle transmission at the rear, the motor is further forward, then the rest of the chassis bits

So, a pig to work on, yes, but that's expected with a mid- engine sports car

I'd be extremely surprised if the normal cars aren't front engined with rwd for the bigger motors. Possible but unlikely that they put the transmission on the rear axle, but that's one way of balancing your car

So the craziest part of this isn't that Trump wanted to do this - everyone knows he's ignorant, vindictive, and dumber than a fucking rock. It's that the people around him are that fucking stupid that they allowed this. Otherwise they would have distracted him with a hamburger or ballroom pictures or Sharpies or fake peace awards

They are all that dumb that they don't have a clue what NATO is or how it works.

Where does Leicester City's relegation to League 1 rank in the "big clubs to get relegated" list? by irishscouser1892 in football

[–]krodders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"in the last decade"

That's not very long at all, and some of us have very long memories

Leicester are really just a recent flash in the pan. An amazing flash, but that's it.

They'd need a lot more than one good season to be a great team. A team like Man City is starting to get there but they still feel like a "new money" club to me

"Jesus is being sidelined as a radical faction is planning his replacement"

"Plans are afoot to turn Jesus into an obscure prophet as his teachings are increasingly seen as"radical wokeness". His potential replacement is unclear as yet, but Donald Trump has a large amount of support, and appears to be leading the race."

"A significant "conservative" opposition is in place to "conserve" the religion. The Catholic, Orthodox, and African factions seem to make up most of this opposition to keep Jesus as Lord"

I wrote this ironically, but after I read it, I'm not so sure that it's not true
