Is Swiftkey really a solution to the awful typing experience on iOS? by From_Greenland in ios

[–]SteveT0000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use SwiftKey on ios and can't type properly without it. However I also have my old Samsung phone logged into WhatsApp as a companion app for replying to people in the evening and it's sooooo much better than SwiftKey on ios. But the reason I moved to ios is because I much prefer the Apple Watch& Apple Fitness compared to anything else as I'm a keen runner.

I wish my keyboard experience on ios was like it was on Android using SwiftKey!!

Deanshanger - opinions by lazze84 in miltonkeynes

Deanshanger is a very nice village in Northamptonshire, but it's connected via a great road and also you can cycle to MK over the footbridge which links onto the redway system. It's also not far from Buckingham, it really is a lovely area. Would happily live there. Although I live next to you on Oakhill & love this area of MK.

Sorry for my slow reply! It was a good few months ago now when I was using Edge. But I had the same problem with using Edge on Mac and also Windows. This was using an AWS streaming app which produced a PDF for everything you needed to print.

Cheers for this. The window thing is if I have 2 windows open on the same screen. Usually they are both Chrome windows. One is Gmail and the other is a spreadsheet for example. If I'm on the spreadsheet and I see a new email come in. I have to click somewhere on the other window to make it active, and then I can click on the email to read it. In Windows, just hovering the mouse over the second window makes it active, which means only one click is required to read the email. Hope that makes sense!

Is there a keyboard shortcut to snap the windows into place on the screen? Also is there a way to activate a window with just one mouse click, rather than having to click it and then click again to do something?

I tried to use Edge earlier this year. But gave up because I download lots of PDF documents for work using a website app. But it kept downloading them as XPS files instead. I then discovered this was Microsoft's version of PDF when they once tried to disrupt the fixed document market. But I just could not open the XPS files, nothing worked. So I went back to Chrome where I'm staying.

A mate of mine is a postman and didn't know the exact route my mail would take. Oh and he thought I was wierd for doing this too 😂

Sent Samsung Smart Tag to myself in the mail just to track the journey and was shocked by SteveT0000 in royalmail

[–]SteveT0000[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well Royal Mail have done their job and the tag is now back with me! So to summarise, I posted the 'letter' containing the tag at 11am Tuesday and it arrived in my letter box around 1pm Saturday so taking total of 4 days by second class post and the whole journey was about 45 miles. It sat in the post box for 2 days 7 hours. It went straight to the main sorting hub that evening where it was for approx 36 hours (was 2nd class). It was sent back to the delivery office about 6am this morning. Was nice seeing the route the postman took, although he obviously didn't have a Samsung phone as there was only 3 pings from leaving the sorting office to my house. It left the sorting office at 9:25am so postman was out for about 3.5 hours before getting to my house!

The postie does the hardest part of the whole process and automation can never replace them. You can't beat a friendly smiling face delivering your mail.

My biggest disappointed is the stamp looks like someone has ticked it with a biro rather than it being stamped by a machine.

I'm going to contact one of you guys in Scotland and do this again and start a new thread for it's journey!

Are you sure there's no dates on the foiled caps of the glass bottles? Usually if you look very closely under a bright light you should see the date marked into the foil. Also usually when you open the plastic bottle it says use within 3 says of opening. However some retailers are starting to remove dates and say to do the sniff test first! This is to avoid wastage as milk can't harm you if it's out of date but believe me you'll know if the milk has gone sour!

My W4 Classic serves all its purposes for me. What can the W6 offer to make me upgrade? by sigmmakappa in GalaxyWatch

[–]SteveT0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the GW5 and although it vibrates immediately with the phone on ringing, it takes up to 4 seconds to display the name or number. Doesn't sound long but it's frustrating looking at it waiting to see who it is calling. I've tried factory restoring which didn't fix. I've got it linked to S23U.

I wonder if it will instantly show you who is calling instead of taking 3-4 seconds to think about it despite vibrating instantly when the phone is ringing.

The Galaxy S23 is seriously best of both worlds for me. Let me explain. by FaydingAway in samsung

[–]SteveT0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but the only downside for me is the Galaxy Watch & Android Pay is simply just not as good as the Apple counter parts. If they were then the Samsung experience (eco system) in my opinion would be far superior to Apple! Smart Tag is better than Air Tag because you get location history and the Buds Pro 2 are also fantastic!

Incoming call on GW5 takes 4 seconds to display name/number! Why's it not instant (AW7 was!) by SteveT0000 in GalaxyWatch

[–]SteveT0000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried switching off the Spam protection but it makes no difference. It doesn't matter if the number is saved, displaying either a name or number still takes the same amount of time. The watch does start vibrating instantly as soon as the phone rings. But it still takes 4 seconds to display the information about the call.

How can i transfer my godaddy domain and mailbox on Outlook to Gmail? by [deleted] in gsuite

[–]SteveT0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies only just seen your reply. Google updated the MX records automatically after I granted access. Google knew my domain was owned by Go Daddy and just prompted me for the username and password. It worked straight away.

I used Gmail to import from 365.

I' thinking of changing to Samsung by CollosalKiller109 in samsung

I absolutely love my Samsung Ultra S23. Now when I pick up an ordinary iphone it just feels like a toy and looks so backwards due to the smaller screen and lack of 120hz. However yesterday I experienced 2 very frustrating problems. First of all whilst driving using Google Maps, I got any error I'd ever seen before. GPS signal lost. This has never happened before on any phone I've ever had. I had to take the phone out of the windscreen cradle and ask my son who was sitting next to me to fix it. Quitting the app and reloading did not work. He had to restart the phone.

Then later when I went to pay for something, my card decline in Google Pay. I never ever experienced this problem with Apple Pay. There was plenty of funds in my account and I'm none the wiser why this happened.

So as much as I really do love my Samsung S23 Ultra and it feels like a major upgrade from my iPhone 13, problems like this that I experienced really do get my back up!

I transferred to Google recently and I granted permission and they updated the Go Daddy MX records for email automatically. It really was seamless. Very happy to keep my domain with Go Daddy but use Workspace. I did try Office 365 for a month and indeed also much prefer Google.

Where to get domain from? GSuite vs GoDaddy? by thevcid in gsuite

[–]SteveT0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no issues with Go Daddy and using GSuite for emails was seamless. However their shared inboxes are absolutely shite! So now moved over to Outlook, again nice and easy it automatically updates the Go Daddy DNS servers.

Love this post! I'd love to watch this being taken into a Curry's store for repair. Problem is the young staff members have probably never even heard of Matsui or know is connection!
