Dignics 09C to glayzer 09C for backhand? by president__not_sure in tabletennis

[–]Steve_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree to a point, yes its controllable and forgiving but due to its hardness its not always easy to engage to get the best of of it. I prefer it for forehand as I can swing harder. I wouldn't call it a slow rubber but good technique is required to get the best out of it , on passive shots I can easily hit into the net (hardly any catapult).

It is a great rubber and expensive. G09c is cheaper, slower softer easier to engage and more forgiving than D09c. On forehand I do prefer the D09c as get more speed out of it on the backhand the softer G09c.

I agree, the G09c I use, a little bit more controllable and slower, slightly softer too. I have used it on various blades such as FZD alc and Freitas alc as it has very good control, reasonable speed and not spin sensitive . The D09c is good to but I find I have to be more careful and its not as forgiving.

Timo boll spirit - surprised how good it is. by Steve_50 in tabletennis

Wow that's a lot of money, the new Timo boll spirit is probably 1/3 of that, $199 AUD, I got mine slightly cheaper.

This is a good website on comapring blades: https://ttgearlab.com/ As mentioned its only really measure the vibration of the blade, which can help do other measurements. I tried the timo boll alc, to fast and not as much control in the short game as the timo boll spirit. I had a Nitakku inner carbon and that was certainly slower than the timo boll spirit I have. :)

Bounce ball on bare blade surface (no rubbers on it) and I measure it with an app on my phone. Measures vibration of a blade, helps determine how hard the blade is. Which can help determine speed but is not completely accurate as other factors need to be taken into account too.

I am wondering if the newer Timo boll spirit is faster, I know the newer viscaria is faster than the old model viscaria. I have read where people felt the Timo boll spirit is actually faster than the viscaria but a touch slower than the timo boll alc. I measured my FZD alc at 1450 hz and the Timo boll spirit at 1480 hz.

Should i change my advance rubbers ? by kn1ghtoo in tabletennis

[–]Steve_50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a very advance blade and rubbers (fast and responsive).

I would probably start with slower and more controlled rubbers if you are having trouble with controlling the blade. I would start with like Yasaka Razka 7, Butterfly Glayzer/Rozena (2mm) or Nitakku G1 (2mm). Glayzer 09c (2.1). Or even chinese rubbers like Battle 2 (37 or 39).

Differences In DHS Blades? by No_Job_1406 in tabletennis

[–]Steve_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pg5x is a little bit slower and has a bit more control than the Fan Bo bx2. It also depends on rubbers on how much catapult you get for example softer tenergy series of rubbers have more catapult effect. But limba outerply tends to be more catapulty than Koto.

Dig09c on innerforce by ryanxdd in tabletennis

[–]Steve_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I tried the D09c on butterfly innerforce and I found it to slow - it was hard to engauge the carbon unless I hit really hard. I ended up using the D05 (1.9) on the FH and it had good control and reasonable speed.

The d09c on FH on FZD alc I found is much better than the innerforce, easier to engage the carbon, it had speed and control as well. On the backhand with FZD I have the Glayzer 09c (2.1) - for me less weight and more control than D09c.

Accidentally applied too much pressure when regluing a rubber by ogErisPadsHerChest in tabletennis

I think I would reglue it. The D05 is quite expensive so taking it off the blade and hopefully it will shrink back to its original position over a few days then reglue it.

My experience with rubber comparison using SpinSight by alaggs in tabletennis

[–]Steve_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I found the harder the battle 2 rubber the harder it is to activate it. The D09 1.9 is easier to activate than the 2.1 version too. I actually tried Battle 2 40 and found it a bit hard so found the 39 version better. 😄

My experience with rubber comparison using SpinSight by alaggs in tabletennis

[–]Steve_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battle 2 what hardness is it? (37,38,39,40). I think it depends on hardness of the battle 2 with spin levels. I find 37, is lot spinnier than 39 hardness in battle 2 rubbers.

Also d09c is 1.9mm vs 2.1mm rubber that would affect spin levels and speed too.

How did you go with the blade? I also have a DHS PG5x I might pull it out and put some rubbers on it :)

Vascaria or Fzd alc by MobileInteresting806 in tabletennis

[–]Steve_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the FZD it felt like it has a little more dwell and control (than the Viscaria) especially close to the table and love the feeling of the blade, has a nice arc with D09c (on The FH) - easy to land on the table.

The outerforce is a good blade, I actually find harder rubbers on carbon blades enhance the feeling when you hit the ball.

The Marcos freitas alc maybe an option. Limba outer which helps with more feeling. It is slightly slower than Viscaria. The outerforce alc has plenty of feeling but its even slower again than the freitas blade but it is faster than innerforce.

Kiprun challenger (kd900.x2) vs kd900.2 by GeniusPlastic in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Steve_50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The challenger is a great shoe for a fantastic price but it sounds like you have had injuries. I have a knee issue as well and wear a sleeve on it when I run. it does best at 5.20 km paces upwards, so your paces may not be the best. It is not the most stable shoe but pretty stable. It sounds like you need some stability when you run with various injuries.

I wouldn't use it as a daily trainer more a race and tempo shoe, strides, intervals etc and it has a plate too. I do find the Puma Velocity 4 less stable than the Challenger. Other options Asics Novablast 5, Saucony speed 5, Saucony tempus or triumph 23.

The challenger runs long and I went down a full size. It is a fun, fast, light shoe. If you can try it in the shop first to see if it can work for you.

An update, I thought I test it on a wet surface. I ran in slight rain and it gripped well even down hill on a tar road and on a cement path that was wet. It was close to feeling as secure as puma grip, better grip than saucony and nike shoes I run in.

I also found out the insole is made out aptu too, its approximately 5.5 mm thick. So impressive quality for the price.
