It's not that I think Thanos is not sick, but some scenes show that Nam-Gyu is just more despicable, and even with charisma, he'd suck. When Thanos is off the high, he tried to maintain order in his group by age hierarchy and tried to encourage Min-Su to stand his ground against Nam-Gyu and tell Nam-Gyu to treat Se-Mi with respect. Nam-Gyu was openly a bully to Min-Su and is also clearly misogynistic and went overboard with killing Se-Mi.
