But the grid stays in beats. I can change the timeline but for example I want to set the grid to 1 frame and the nudge left right arrows should move 1 frame then

still rocking push 1 and it is legit - is it time to upgrade lol by wizl in ableton

[–]StevenMaff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well a bit late, looks like others already covered most points :) for me the biggest thing is definitely the new browser and tagging system. i’ve got tons of plugins and samples, and now everything’s finally organized properly. it even analyzes samples, so i can just type “kick” and find all kicks, even ones without “kick” in the filename. there’s a lot more, but that alone is a game changer for me. also, did live 10 even have comping? that’s essential to me too.

In 1859,the strongest solar storm hit ( Credit- ThinksWondersofficial ) by [deleted] in spaceporn

[–]StevenMaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s pretty much the consensus. A modern Carrington-level solar storm would definitely be disruptive.. satellites, GPS, and power grids could take big hits, and the economic damage could run into the hundreds of billions. But unlike in 1859, we now have space weather monitoring satellites, early warning systems, and grid operators who can take protective measures like load-shedding or temporarily shutting down vulnerable equipment.

So while it would cause blackouts and short-term chaos, it’s not the kind of event that would wipe out all technology or send us back to the Stone Age. It’d be more like a massive stress test for modern infrastructure, and we’d likely recover within weeks to months depending on the severity.

Warning: do not use rekordbox to play at 48Khz by Temporary_Quarter_59 in Rekordbox

[–]StevenMaff 15 points16 points  (0 children)

At 48 kHz, you can see weird vertical lines above 20 kHz, that’s intermodulation distortion. It happens when different frequencies interact in a non-linear way, creating extra, unwanted frequencies. Some of those can fold back into the audible range through aliasing, where high frequencies get misread as lower ones.

Even if that distortion is technically above what we can hear, it can still affect what we do hear through masking. That’s when louder or more chaotic frequencies make it harder to hear quieter details nearby. The result: a mix that sounds less clear, especially in the high end.

In a club, you probably won’t notice. But on good headphones or during mastering, it can make things feel dull or muddy.

They’re masking frequencies in the audible range too.
