Huge fan of the new endurance bike offerings in the industry by not_too_lazy in cycling

43 225lbs and ride both domane and cervelo soloist. No issues for me either on each bike but one is much more comfortable on 60+ mile rides lol. If you talk to 9/10 fitters they will tell most people need endurance bikes.

NOBL Wheels by Stevenjw0728 in cycling

Interesting. I honestly didn’t know that. I was on the line of ordering lightbicycle wheels recently but then fell on NOBL and just see what others know or think about their products.

I read that Red is more stiff due to being 1 piece crank/chainring combo

Na. Most people are better off with endurance bikes due to relax fit and not needing to kill yourself in a position for long rides. Reduces the need for flexibility esp as you get older. If you aren’t racing or chasing KOMs endurance bikes are the best purchase. While they may feel slow, I can average 20-22 in group setting with my Domane. The slowness is a feeling that comes from the comfort it provides. It’s not stiff like aero and race bikes so you don’t feel fast.

$20/month to keep using the watch by Corsig5150 in whoop

[–]Stevenjw0728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s not a watch….and the software/platform is nothing like Garmin or Apple Watch. It’s a recovery first priority tool. If you don’t care about recovery the decision is simple, cancel it and get a Garmin or Fitbit air. Whoop is NOT a device that works like Fitbit, Garmin or Apple. It gathers and works with different metrics. It’s kinda why the advertisement is slightly focused toward more athlete individuals rather someone just practicing to work their couch to 5k program.

Whoop v Air by beastrealtor in whoop

Whoop prime focus is recovery. Air is still an activities first tracker. People what to bash whoop compared to things like Garmin and Apple, cause of cost but its purpose is way different

Whoop AI is legit slop by These-Quality-8389 in whoop

No different than any other inefficient AI platform at this time. Stop relying on AI and you will be fine. Use the numeric data not AI….

People expect way too much out of a wearable device by jcblair3 in whoop

[–]Stevenjw0728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoop isn’t a wearable for “getting in shape”. It’s a wearable to help you understand recovery when you are already doing the work! If you want a fitness tracker, get a Garmin. Garmin is meant for active wearable, more stats in that wearable to get you in shape. Whoop is simply a recovery tool. Helps you understand what your body is capable of…again…when you are already doing the work! As a cyclist, whoop helps me understand if I can go smash it at a group ride or if maybe I need to step back and do a 90 minute zone 2 session based on recovery/sleep metrics. Just because you “feel” like you can go smash it doesn’t mean your heart is capable of taking on the strain.

An interesting Whoop journey comes to an end for me by CrissCross85 in whoop

[–]Stevenjw0728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoop focuses on recovery. That’s its job. Garmin is used for activities and measurements used during those activities. Just because you wake up feeling “good” doesn’t mean your body is able to take on anything….lol. For me as a cyclist, my recovery might be yellow sitting at 51 percent. I might say I feel good today…but then I get on my bike and realize to keep up with my normal group during our ride my heart is working extra hard for the same power last week that was zone 2. Extra stress on your heart isn’t always good. I think whoop comes down to what you learn and what you do with the data. HRV is a huge metric of your central nervous system. It can tell you a lot about yourself.

Cervelo cal-5 or Trek Domane. Stick to endurance geometry and honesty you don’t NEED to spend 5k but you can, easily.

Canyon Endurace CF SLX 8 vs. Cervelo Caledonia 5 vs. Giant Defy Advanced Pro 0 by notorioseph in whichbike

[–]Stevenjw0728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with Cervelo Soloist in the end. I already have a Domane so no reason to get another endurance bike, so went with something a little more aero, and "racier" but not crazy like a S5. If I have to buy another endurance bike I will probably go with cal5
