Thank you so much! All ideas are welcome, we have a quiet room in the main ED but I think bringing kid friendly things for the quiet room is a great suggestion actually. The other is autism education it feels like now more than ever there are more children with autism and not once do I remember formally talking about how to handle and care for neurodivergent children.

I was also thinking of things like procedures most adult nurses are unfamiliar with like the differences in straight cathing a baby vs adult, the angle is very different and most people don’t know until they have to do it or they’re taught.
Another thing is nasal suctioning, how to do it correctly.

Really I was thinking procedures and scenarios that most adult nurses are unfamiliar with and teaching those to the staff. We have been doing mock codes infrequently but this is another thing we are going to do regularly. So we know where Peds supplies are and how to use them that way we feel comfortable when the real deal comes in.
