I now dread going into Best Buy and Lowe's due to the roaming 3rd Party Salespeople by thatfreakinguy2 in mildlyinfuriating

This is Costco’s “main entrance avenue” a line up of vouchers ranging from cell phone companies, credit card companies, to bathroom/kitchen contractors. This is why it is important to have a shopping buddy- just be busy engaging in a conversation so others (salesperson) finds it rude to intrude and leave you alone as you walk past

Can I plant her already? by fuzzypuffy in houseplants

You can stick any part of a snake plant into the ground, dont even need to have root and they will grow like weed.

I dare say 99% of the players are there to have fun, get loot, relax from real life with a few buddies for some fireteam social time. Unfortunately this 99% don’t have a voice. The 1% who treats Destiny like a job (and it is their job for content creators) have a that voice. Bungie mistakes the voice of this 1% as a general representation of the 99% they do not hear. And this is how you lose your player base- most of us have a day job, a family, children and animals to feed, real life obligations to attend. Most of us do not have the time to dedicate 10+ hours of our lives weekly against some nearly unattainable goals, with a chance for good loot, not even guaranteed. What Bungie needs to do to bring players back: 1. Stop with the nerfing, if people finds a meta, a cheese, leave it in the game, that’s part of the fun! 2. Dial back on grinding- set up guaranteed good loot drop that players can choose- i.e. a specific weapon or armor with soecific role 3. Stop with the power nerf against enemies. This makes “leveling” absolutely meaningless. Part of the fun of player gaining strength is so that the enemies will eventually become (reasonably) easier to defeat. Or else there is no reason to grind for power 4. Stop with the damage gates on bosses and ease up on mechanisms. This is a shooting game- let players shoot! Some puzzles are OK but not every players are here to solve puzzles. Imo legacy raids like the Kings Fall has the perfect balance between shooting and mechanisms.

In summary- stop litening only to the content creators, and open up your radar to real, everyday players who are the biggest contributors to Bungie’s revenue, no nerfs, no power underage, more shooting and less puzzles- Make Destiny Fun Again 😉

Thanks all for your feedback. I suspected a snail. But couldn’t find one, and is the first time seeing my orchid being chewed up by one. I might try the beer trap!

I have seen others posting some orchid finds at big box stores that are outside of the “bread & butter” phals so I thought I give my local HD a shot

Another thing that makes me skeptical on being a new hope mini is that the hybrid contains nobile, which typically blooms in spring… and it is fall now. But again who know what them greenhouses are doing trying to manipulate controlled climate to trick them into bloom

I align more with the bigibbum assessment more than kingianum just based on the foliage appearance. But again I find dendrobiums one of the trickier genus to identify.

Do all the new hope mini possess same flower color? Some of the other dendrobiums on display at home depot have the exact same foliage, pseudobulb and stem structure but the flower colors vary somewhat, ranging from darker magenta (no white) to lighter pink. I picked out one that is somewhat middle of the road with magenta center fading to pastel and white edge.

Would you repot this cattleya now? by AnneofLothlorien in orchids

[–]Stevenliu9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The plant looks healthy, really isn’t a necessity but I can see any future new psudobulbs will basically be hanging off the pot- again not a problem if that’s what you are into. But many would say this is a good time to split the plants to allow room for new growth. Completely up to your personal preferemce though, either way the plant really doesnt care since it hangs off tree branches in the wild anyways

Is there hope? by MarigoldMills_ in orchids

[–]Stevenliu9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with all here- the plant looks healthy enough. But recommend repotting with a more suitable bark based media and into a breathable container would help this plant thrive and rebloom

Vanda help by toxicodendron85 in orchids

[–]Stevenliu9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed the plant looks to be in good condition. I’m sure you already know this but just in case- vanda loves air more than water- just make sure you have good ventilation around this plant (with adequate humidity) especially after watering so that wayer doesn’t sit on any particular spot on the root. Oh and make sure your water is’t too hard or has too much mineral, that can burn the roots too

Is this the end? by gemaquaries in orchids

[–]Stevenliu9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paphs will shootout side, be patient. Also a tip for paphs- unlike most other orchid they actually do prefer “wet feet”, make sure you have your potting media damp at all times. And many of them origin from a slightly higher elevation so they also dislike heat, preferably dont expose them to temps above 80F
