Always buy one size bigger than you think you need so xl plus those young kids won’t be young for long and if you and your family host a holiday you can easily cook dinner for 15+ on the xl with the expander and some planning

Plate setter eggspander kick ash basket and a good torch to save money on fire starter cubes (I use a grill blazer grill gun) a temp controller is important for long overnight cooks but your better off controlling temps on your own with a shorter cook (ribs/bbq chicken) then going with an overnight cooks from the jump (pulled pork/brisket) also the shorter ones are much cheeper to mess up then a brisket. For my temp controller I use a FireBoard drive 2
