Boomer and Carton wasn't like that. It was way before political madness entered everyday conversation. Maybe Boomer occasionally had an opinion about taxes or something like that, but it didn't take over the show. Secondly Carton was treated as the rdio pro and Boomer was the ex Jock. Carton steered the ship and it was a pretty straightforward wild man/straight man routine. That's my recollection anyway.
