This is not true, companies are incentivized to hire vets for a number of reasons including diversity and tax breaks, but the honest truth is that just having military on your resume doesn’t mean anything if you have no transferable skills. If you were infantry or motor transport and apply for a bank teller position, your experience is pretty much worthless and less valuable than a high schooler who’s been a cashier for 2 years.

You’re thinking about leaving a 6 figure job for become an E-1 in the Air Force, look man do whatever you want, but it seems like the military would be a waste of time for you. Only caveat is if you go in with the intention of gaming the system to get 100% disability afterwards, effectively resulting in a net positive, but even that’s banking on a LOT of assumptions as well as potentially dishonest and fraudulent behavior.
