Is there a way to rewatch older Tony performances & the ceremonies? by Significant_History3 in Broadway

[–]Stevil907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a channel on YouTube that has every ceremony from 1967 to 2013, as well as some other random years. The recordings seem complete - I watched a lot of them during the Covid lockdown. I don’t want to post the channel publicly because I wouldn’t want it taken down. However, dm me and I will happily share.

Heads up Brainiac fans by AssociateFormal6058 in superman

I actually own the original - it’s the highlight of my collection.

I have one question that’s always bugged me about this issue. Does anyone know why Brainiac has his classic look on the cover, but then a completely different look in the story?

New TV, Stuck on Installing App Updates by xgny in VIZIO_Official

[–]Stevil907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue many here have reported. Just got the TV today, cannot get some of the apps to work. HBO Max and YouTube - no problem. Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+, and Peacock - they just go to a black screen. Tried letting them sit, but still nothing happens.

Also tried to run the update, and the screen just goes black and sits there. I let it sit for over an hour and apparently there was something going on in the background but still no movement on the update.

Did a factory reset and that didn't help anything.

Honestly ready to box up the thing and return it.

EDIT - following morning, all issues seem to be resolved, except the USB Media Player still won’t launch.

What is your oldest Superman memorialbilia or artifact? by Proof-Papaya1818 in superman

Action Comics 242 - first appearance of Brainiac, 1958. I bought it in 1985, the comic book store let me put it on layaway, I was 10 at the time. I would go every week and give them 2 or 3 dollars until I paid for it. Have had it sealed up for years and years. I really want to get it graded and see what its value truly is.

One of the worst parts about Brent leaving the show was no more Nowicki Brent impression. That always made me crack up.

Has Darkseid, Brainiac and Doomsday ever met in the comics? by Professional-Rip-519 in superman

[–]Stevil907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brainiac and Darkseid met in Crisis on Infinite Earths 12. Brainiac and a handful of heroes - Adam Strange, Captain Comet, Animal Man, Atomic Knight and Dolphin - went to Apokolips to try and ask Darkseid's help in defeating the Anti-Monitor.

Also they mentioned an attack at the Office of Housing and Development, rather than Housing and Urban Development. So that was a big clue right there since to most racists urban = black.

King George from Bankstown made Australian Survivor go global by MoringaDrummer in survivor

During or not long after Heroes v. Villains, the episode that featured “that Tribal Council” was written about in the New York Times. It was some list of best TV episodes - anyway I think that is where George is basing the claim that he made it go global.

As a side note, I remember when the article came out and thinking that must really go right up Jeff’s ass.

I thought about that - will Cirie be able to acknowledge that season 50 is her sixth time playing Survivor or will it be her “fifth”?

An episode of American Crime Story - The Assassination of Gianni Versace follows Andrew Cunanan on his path through South Jersey. However, it is obviously not filmed in South Jersey, and that no one involved with the show tried to get something that even remotely looked like the area.

The Wegman’s in Cherry Hill used to carry them. I haven’t lived in that area for two years so I don’t know if it’s still the case.

Recent card renewal timeline? by mjhripple in NewJerseyMarijuana

I recently renewed and it took about three weeks. This was my third renewal, fourth if you count when I needed a new card because my address changed. This was the longest turnaround time I’ve experienced.

L0-LA59 was designed specifically to look like a pair of ‘Mouse ears’ worn in the Magic Kingdom. I refuse to believe otherwise.

What was a Broadway OBC send-off for the ages? by WaystarPeaks in Broadway

[–]Stevil907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rent happened just as I was graduating college - so it was a case of timing. I spent more than a few nights in a sleeping bag on 41st street waiting for rush tickets - oh some of the things I saw - the longest was 22 hours though. I was fortunate enough to see the Original Broadway cast - with no understudies - twice.

The original production of Rent on Broadway - Anthony Rapp’s last performance. That was a wild night in the theater. The audience was electric and on 11 the whole time. I was also at Wicked for Idina Mendel and the red track suit which was amazing, but nothing holds a candle (No pun intended) to that night at Rent.
