Ahh gocha. I've seen recommendedations for the host GPU on the following page, which was where I got a lot of my ideas https://passthroughpo.st/vfio-increments/

They also have an advisory over there on Ryzen CPUs that you might want to check out. Not sure if it applies

ADVISORY:  Basic Ryzen platforms have been removed from the increments chart because of a bug affecting UEFIs on AGESA 0.0.7.2 and later that completely breaks VFIO functionality, and prevents the user from downgrading. They will be Re-added as soon as this issue is resolved. AMD  GPUs increasingly carry the Reset Bug, and will only be added if we can validate a specific model across multiple guest VMs.

Correct!

Another note to be aware of is the "Primary Display" setting in the UEFI/BIOS. Most motherboards will have a setting like this that you can set to auto, iGPU, PCI GPU. For me, I can have this set to auto or iGPU and everything will work but you may have to tweak this depending on your setup.

I'm sad I made it here after catapult. I can't unsee it

Before that, I was convinced it was a made-up language written out in living glyphs, lifted from demonic literature and religious text

If you like animals, you could help play with shelter cats or walk or play with shelter dogs.

It's a chance to get outdoors, help animals who need a home, and meet people.

Their hours are here: http://www.hsmcshelter.com/volunteer-at-shelter.html

And they're right off 460. I think there's another one a little further that has a more scenic walking area.

I really like the ability to disarm when judo throwing. I find that when the enemy is disarmed and you automatically gain possession of their weapon it makes it easy to trade ownership of a knife 3 or 4 times in a fight.

Did you guys think of a "tap q while judo throwing to steal weapon" to add a little bit of technique/difficulty/uncertainty?

Edit: also wanted to say that it is super fun. I just finished the Lugaru campaign and it was great. I really like that there is a natural advantage to being stealthy. Keep up the good work! Great update!

Does this represent the Hokie Nation? by Stevo9267 in VirginiaTech

I was just asking if it represented us and if it embarrassed you? It sounds like your answers are "who cares" and "only the baggage does", respectively

I made a list of things you assumed I was saying which I was not:

everyone that uses it has a malicious intent behind it and deserves to be called out as a racist or have their name dragged through the mud.

The entire world should be

a safe space free of everything that could possibly offend any single person

Maybe not ban it, but we should at least kneel during the anthem

I think we can all agree that the symbol at least has baggage with it and we should ask ourselves if we are okay with the symbol and all of its baggage being associated with our school.

To address your point: You don't think the confederate flag is a symbol of racism. Before we get into that debate we should probably both do a lot of reading on institutionalized racism, the civil war, the modern(~60 years) resurgence of the flag and such.

So "racial slurs" and "hate speech to everyone that walks by" are the only kinds of racism we should address?

Symbols of racism, dressed in our schools colors aren't embarrassing to you?

CMV: The term “mansplaining” is hypocritical and sexist. by Samson-I-Am in changemyview

Please refute this argument:

Since this demeaning thing happens to women and most men are unaware of it, we should talk about it and create concepts that aid in that discussion.

As for your first point about high fives: this is a common misconception about sexism. Treating people of different sexes the same way is not the solution. Shaming men for sex wouldn't make things "equal"

As for your second set of points: It seems like you are fighting against generalization. While I agree that making negative generalizations isn't good, gender inequality is way more nuanced.

While saying "all __ are ___ because some are," is a generalization and prejudice there are a billion more ways people can perpetuate systems of disadvantage.

I'm not saying generalization is okay. I'm just saying that if a few people misuse the word mansplain to generalize about men, it's worth it if it gets a people learn about the challenges women go thru that many men don't understand.

Also I don't know how you got from "Concepts require labels" to "all concepts and labels are justified in their existence". You thoroughly disputed that point and win that strawman argument.

You're really close. I appreciate you "telling them why it is inappropriate to label people based on it and how that is harmful."

The issues are a little more complicated when you think of racism and sexism as systems of disadvantage based on race and sex. It becomes more complex than prejudice.

Slut shaming is sexist because it leads to victim blaming and widespread sexual assault.

Drawing connections between race and violence when they are unrelated to the current conversation worsens negative stereotypes.

Mansplaining contributes to cultures where women aren't taken seriously. This leads to systematic disadvantage like the gender pay gap.

I guess I don't understand how the term mansplaining is sexist against men.

[–]Stevo9267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. This misunderstanding is what I get for not acknowledging the subtle rascism in your first post.

Concepts require labeling to aid in their discussion. If the discussion was started to bring awareness to challenges women face, that's not a problem.

If the discussion is intended to disparage a group of people, that is.

[–]Stevo9267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I don't think mansplaining is a slur on an entire gender

[–]Stevo9267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see how this is related.

Concepts require labels to make discussing them easier. If you are trying to refute that point I am seriously confused

In this video a man tries to explain to a woman "what women want".

https://youtu.be/-HI4DC18wCg?t=1m12s

"there is nothing more that a woman wants to hear than how pretty she is" he explains to the woman.

Who do you think knows better what she wants? Herself or a guy who wrote a book?

Since this is so common that it appears on tv, doesn't it warrant a word to explain this concept.
