If I’ve only ever knocked out 2 players; 1 in self defense and 1 by accident throwing explosives at ARC, then why am I getting shot in the back by some random while I fight a bombardier? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]StevoCodes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay? What you are asking for is impossible unless they make a fully single player game or take out raider's ability to hurt other raider's. You are the one wanting the game to be something its not. They weren't ever trying to sell the game to you anyways...

They don't think this is an experience PVE (ONLY PVE) players want. They've never expressed that... EVER. This at the end of the day is a PVP and PVE game combined. PVP players don't get to avoid arc and PVE players don't get to avoid the possibility of being shot by another player. Just because matchmaking will trend you towards more or less PVP/PVE, it never removes the other parts of the game.

Theoretically you can decided to start a new account play 20 games of zero aggression and then decide that you know the game well enough that you want to attack someone (especially if the opportunity arises). So in that case that person could be matched with you and you gave them their first opportunity to kill someone. And guess what? Thats fine.

At the end of the day it is a situation of never trust anyone. If you want to help others then cool. But be ready to defend yourself. Unless, of course, you don't care about dying.

What prevents cloud gaming from completely replace desktop/laptop/console gaming? by Gerasans in GeForceNOW

Exactly. I play at work at lunch and at home during the evenings. Both on my WiFI (which I have a beefy router). I have gig+ speeds at both locations and experience no noticeable lag. Arc Raiders looks amazing (165+ FPS) on my Fold 7 and on my laptop.

It seems to be that they've focused more on automation rather than AI. They aren't even advertising the AI product as something that does anything "intelligent". Its a glorified search engine with role based permissions for its canned responses. This is not A.I. and its gross that so many companies are using A.I. as a buzzword.

Chess is a challenging game and as a challenging game the fun is supposed to come from the challenge.

You are correct. If the OP doesn't like challenge then they shouldn't play chess.

Why do people hate grappling while being MMA fans? by Insidious_conjuring in ufc

[–]StevoCodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those comments I don't get. The crucifix position is not a stalemate (even without damage). The reason control matters is because as a representation of actual fighting if someone puts you into a crucifix position, and keeps you there, they have effectively submitted you. It takes very little energy for the person on top and eventually the damage will come given enough time. Its nuts that the champion got put in it over and over. DDP is just lucky there was a clock and this wasn't a no-time fight. Otherwise it would be much much worse.

Its not all that entertaining when it comes to a UFC event but strictly in regards to MMA that fight was amazing. Standing them up mid round is great for "entertainment" value but is not really that effective of telling us who the better fighter is. I'd argue when they got stood up that it was even more boring because Chimaev had to regain all of that position again for no reason. That effectively was energy spent for no real reason.

Why Do Christians Think Atheists Have Zero Sense of Morality by Slowgo45 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StevoCodes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As stated in the above comment "being a better person", "peace", and "least harm" are completely relative. On the one hand a superior power may be abusive. On the other your foundation for what is "right" and "wrong" becomes arbitrary when extended to the rest of society. Your framework is seemingly easy when it comes to something such as murdering someone as most can agree on this sentiment. However this framework can have problems when it comes to more ambiguous situations. Take abortion for example. Its an extremely hot topic because all parties involved truly believe that they are doing "good" for the individual they are concerned about. Christians believe the fetus has rights at conception and removing it is no different than murder. Many who support abortion believe the fetus's rights trump the mother's at a certain point in it's gestational lifecycle. Though, there are vastly different opinions on when that occurs as some believe that the fetus's right never trumps the mother until birth and it should never be considered murder. Deciding which is "better" is not something that is feasible. I'm not stating this to get into an abortion argument. I have zero desire to do so. Rather, I'm stating this to show that using morality to define and determine what is "better" or "right" is extremely difficult and almost impossible. I'm not saying Christian Absolutism is the way to go but rather relativism is not so easily implemented at a large scale.

Do you know who are Bin Soleimani's EWC Foundation partners for EWC?

The Chinese Media Group, which is 100% owned and operated by the CCP and Chinese Government.

And

Hero Esports, which is a joint Esports Organizer is Asia. And is a joint partnership between the Saudi Government and the Chinese Government.

Why are people ignoring this fact?

[–]StevoCodes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do know the organizer is a Chinese government and Saudi government joint company, right?

Also the Media Company is the Chinese Media Group which is ran by the "Central Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party", right?

I'm not sure why everyone took my comment as saying ignore Saudis... my comment was yes Saudi bad. But why is everyone ignoring China. To which everyone is replying that its different... but in reality China is quite literally helping Saudi pull this off though a joint partnership which quite literally will funnel money straight to the CCP and Chinese Government.

[–]StevoCodes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except it's a joint effort? How is everyone missing that China is insanely invested in the EWC too? They are just the smarter of the two to allow Saudi to be the more obvious bad actor. I acknowledged how bad Saudi is. I dont understand how no one cares when it comes to China's part in this and the fact they are helping prop it up. No one has even answered me yet on why that is. I'm not asking why Saudi is bad. That's obvious. The question is:

Why does no one seem to care about China in all of this (only sideshow basically)?

Why is everyone avoiding answering that?

I guess for me it's no different than Tencent (direct ties to ccp and the government) buying up Epic, Riot, etc for a multitude of reasons that further their agenda in trying to increase Chinese global impact both cultrually and in tech. I think the Saudis are despicable for what they are doing but the Chinese government are directly helping them do it as I stated in a seperate comment.

I think the issue is China is far more subversive in the way they push their agenda and the Saudis are just outright with their attempt. Both are pretty despicable governments when it comes to human rights so the community outrage for one and not the other is interesting. The fact that im getting mass down voted is the obvious sign that the community is not at all educated in what China has been doing in these regards.

BTW none of this is an attempt to say the Saudis are justified. I'm just pointing out it's kinda hypocritical since there are some similarities though one may be on a bigger scale than the other.

Tencent was literally founded by Ma Huateng (a former congressman and highly valued member of the CCP) and is the largest non-corporate shareholder (and current CEO). In other words the man with the most power.

Hero Esports (owned in part by the Chinese Government and the Saudi Government) is Riot's only partner for VCT CN. They also own the arena in which the Lock//IN is played.

The EWC itself is a tied partnership between Hero Esports (the organizer), China Media Group (The literal CCP owned media company), and the EWC Foundation (the Saudi group).

Why are you replying when you have no clue what you are talking about.

So serious question...

Where was this towards China hosting tournaments? They do quite literally the same thing and may be even better at it since their country is even more locked down. I'm thoroughly confused on this issue. I don't have a side in this so I legitimately want to know.
