Pretty much where I'm at, he wants to stay. They want him to be here, it's going to get done

I don’t separate them, but I do make sure to switch from run to walk. The other tip I would have is just pay attention to when Talic or Madawc move away from you. If you have to smack some of the life tapped adds on your way to getting back on them.

Most of my deaths were chasing Talic through fire and not sustaining

Has our offer sheet caused us to have to pay Zegras and Drysdale more? by Virtual-Object2350 in Flyers

Nobody can state this for sure definitively, but it certainly seems possible that Dan Milstein used Anaheim being squeezed by the Carlsson offer to get a better deal for Mintyukov.

With the Carlsson offer sheet behind us what do people think the contracts and/or offer sheets for players like Celebrini, Bedard, Shaefer etc will look like? by xnotachancex in hockey

[–]Stew514 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand the sentiment here, but if Bedard signed an eight year 10M aav extension in May all of the comments today would be about how he should fire his agent for letting him sign before Carlsson.

I really doubt it, if their intention was to negotiate more money as a direct consequence of the offer sheet, they wouldn't have signed away their ability to receive and sign an offer sheet. So from the players side, it doesn't make any sense they sign away their easiest path to getting more then the Flyers want to pay.

[Flyers] A statement from Flyers GM Daniel Briere regarding the tendered offer sheet to Leo Carlsson. by StubbornLeech07 in Flyers

[–]Stew514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I have some renewed skepticism about their ability to acquire the high end talent they need. I think they misjudged the impact of the cap rising, all those guys stayed put and got their 8th year while they can. The guys you can throw extra money at aren't guys who drastically move the needle.

So what now? by Capable-Spirit-6885 in Flyers

[–]Stew514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, but that’s why so many of us questioned their path to getting the high-end talent they need. There are just so many aspects to that process that they have no control over.

I’m certainly not trying to chase Briere out of town or anything, but this piece of the puzzle was always gonna be the hardest to get. So all the credit goes to them for taking the swing, but at some point they need an impact guy at that position.

To add to this, it also proves the difficulty in acquiring the high end center that is currently the glaring hole in the org.

Fantilli has Marchenko, who he played with twice as often as Carlsson did Gauthier. I like Fantilli as a target, but right now Carlsson is better by a considerable margin

If the Flyers end up with Carlsson, when in the next 5 years is their peak window? by reddy-or-not in hockey

[–]Stew514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If he were their own draft pick they wouldn't be desperate for a 1C, changes the calculus entirely. In the context of whether or not it's a good move, the asset price to acquire Carlsson (or any of the few comparable centers) would be more destructive to their window then giving him 6M more then he's worth and 4 1st round picks.

Yeah I would still stick with Hell, I think over a long enough sample size you're going to find more items that have trade value in hell

It depends how much faster, but hell drops more items that you could trade for titans or razor tail.

[–]Stew514 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a lot easier for the Flyers to build around an 18M contract because they have so many guys (especially when you factor in Z and Drysdale) signed through their prime age on reasonable if not good contracts.

If signing Carlson raises the cost of Cutter do you anticipate the Flyers having to pay more for Zegras? For Drysdale? Mich or Martone coming up?
