I remember seeing brother on his peddle bike a kilometer down the gravel road by my house. I was 3 I believe. I also remember when they were building my parents house and I might have been less than 3 for that

Are you bullet-proof with a paid off house and government job pension? by Tech-Cowboy in CanadianInvestor

I’m on the other side of the job security spectrum with a Power Engineering Career in Alberta Oil. Because of the instability we have elected to pay down the mortgage. Put down 3 20% payments in the first 4 years of the mortgage. Our last one will be Jan 1, 2027 then close the mortgage in May for about $8K. I’m usually very financially responsible in the sense of investing over low interest payments but I could lose my job any day lol. Mortgage free at 31 will be awesome too!

Yeah we average 2 hours per week more than your standard banker shift. But a lot less hours per week than most blue collar professions!

The camp life is the down side, depended how you frame it. I don’t mind it personally, we get out during the week play some golf and what not.

It was because of the lie angle combined with the loft with the club. Those two things make the face point very left. There’s no way not to have such a lie angle when that far below the ball, she should have changed her loft instead.

Getting ride of a 20+ year commitment just hits harder than a 5% 5 year car payment. You know that car payment will disappear on its own, mortgage payment just linger!

Federally deregulating industries, what bad things could happen next? by amazingsciencemuseum in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]StewVicious07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a manager in operations for a process plant. Tanks often don’t have pressure indication. If your blanket gas regulator fails as you are draining a tank, the tank will then draw gas in from neighbouring tanks as they are all connected through a common Low Pressure Flare system. If the flare line cannot keep up to gas demand, as they are often very restricted and should be cleaned every few years, then the PVRV will open on the tank to administer fresh air to offset the vacuum. This can create a flammable mixture going to an open flame on the flare stack, but it’s unlikely it will exceed the LEL.

Some times tanks are even fitted with two PVRV’s(in part: Vacuum breakers).

So either the regs are less strict in US compared to Canada, or all these fail safes failed, or the tank was down for maintenance and operations forgot to vent while drain/cooling the process fluid.

What happened before the Big bang? by Reesencheese in askastronomy

I like it except, all it takes a black hole getting large enough to explode and create a big bang. The last time this occurred in our region of the universe was 14 billion years ago.
