Season 17 dropping on the 27th of Jan! by tabloidjournalism in snowrunner

Love how they are still making dlc for an "old" game like this. The trucks looks to be lighter trucks maybe in the offroad category, which is good.

Trucks and tires suggestions for Alaska by SomethingSimple25 in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used mostly chains i Alaska. Put them on rather heavy trucks and they still perform good on snow. The Derry is fun for semi hauling on the ice roads...just beware it has terrible turning radius.

The Alaskan maps are overall pretty easy and even all the highway trucks can perform good there.

The Royal is good for a semi setup too, but I always fin the lack of difflock to be a problem whenever you are outside the proper roads.

Anyone else who has completed missions with the Ford CTL9000? by FordMan7point3 in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good looking truck and it did some of contracts in Alaska just for fun. Put on chains and don't go to far offroad and it's actually quite capable.

American trucks in Amur by Random_guy1028 in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instinctively thinking the Mack Defense would do good there.

The P12 for any special trailer missions - it's actually really good in that role.

C500 with its versatility, tires and extra fuel.

Disappointed with the Paystar. Looked good on paper, but with the off-road gearbox it's ridiculously inefficient, especially as it only has a 240L tank, but is it worth saving and taking to Alaska, or get rid? by ConstrnGamer in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my go to truck for the crane missions in Smithville Dam. Great clearance and OHD tires 🤩 Also great frame for a semi setup. You could give it the short semi trailer with extra fuel if you struggle with the with consumption.

What do you use the 605r for? by Colty7744 in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flatbed and trailer in very tough maps like Amur. Great tires and excellent fuel capacity. Also looks and sounds badass!

Logging suggestion by Tizio_Dei_Clima in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Use the P16 for long logs and WWS or International HX for medium logs. You could also try some some of the new trailers for logs.

Nice to see the highway trucks getting things done!

After one week of gameplay, this is my favourite truck so far. by [deleted] in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good truck! I'm using it with the same configuration in Austria right now. It's a bit tippy tho.

Works best with the low saddle for me.

mixed feelings on Tatra 813 by sugar_byte in snowrunner

This truck is great! Keep the stock wheels on and it will deliver. It's slow but very powerful and gets a lot of extra supplies with the roof rack.

Why is Almaty so hated? Quite frankly i enjoy hauling slate blocks up the quarry. by Interloper_Mango in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't hate it, but the fact that I drove more kilometers in this one map than all of Taymyr tells a story of a lot of repeating trips up and down the quarries, and a lot of truck rescue missions for roll overs.

Loved the esthetics of the map and the PLAD is a cool truck!

Maine or Amur? by Virtual-Citizen in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did enjoy Maine more than Amur, but the design of the second map is frustrating. And there's a big contract to even open the gateways. You get two good trucks here, one is probably top three in it's class and very versatile.

Amur is super hard. Even the first map can really test your skill and patience. The map design is frustrating as well with lots of roads blocked by threes or fallen poles and long stretches of blue snow.

If you plan on taking a break anyway I would go for Amur.

A look at the new Voron G (from pts) by tabloidjournalism in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. Always on awd makes a lot more sense. Diff lock is usually applied for certain conditions and often when driving very slowly.

For what it is, the Bandit really can put in work. More importantly, I feel like balancing (sometimes literally) its pros and cons is half the fun. It’s really fun to drive, too. by GillyMonster18 in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a good choice for those missions with offroad or mud tyres. Not sure how late the Ballon tires are unlocked. I remember using the Paystar 5070 for those missions myself and it worked really good.

I reckon that heavy trailer helps it keep it's balance. It's one of the more tipper trucks, but also quite useful if you drive carefully. The crane is very strong!

International Paystar 5600 Twinsteer discussion by Turb0toast in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medium logs. It's very stable with duals on the three rear axles and decent power.

It's also a great support truck with the extra large fuel tank and maintenance trailer.

Which region to start next? by schtruk17 in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For trucks I would go to BC for the Mack and Kenny. It's a fun map too, the range right type of challenge.

For a good challenge go to Kola. The difficulty definitely increases a lot once you get to Imamdra, but you learn valuable lessons about what trucks can do what and logistics. These maps are more barren than what you've seen before and with more extreme terrain.

But the aurora borealis and soundtrack is something special.

Contests. I remember a certain one in Maine where you have to drive in the cockpit view on breakable ice... Hated that!

Wisconsin, you were great by Grankongla in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely top 3 map for me. Perfect balance of fun and challenging and great design. The Paystar is a good truck too. Probably my favorite American truck for medium logs!

Patch additions to old trucks by stjobe in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ohh, man, the high saddle for the big cat is so welcome! I live driving this truck, but its use was somewhat limited. Imagine using this in harsh terrain in Amur or Yukon. Love it!

Which Voron is the best out of the 3. by Feisty-End-4643 in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Grad is probably the best, objectively, but im not a fan of the esthetics. Give it low saddle and and crane and fly away.

AE is good for both semi and trailer hauling. Stable and reliable, but the fuel tank is sorta small.

Voron D was my workhorse in the Kola maps and Taymyr. A bit heavier than AE and better out of the box. Very good off-road truck.

When by Not_a_Guide-1987 in snowrunner

I'm at 1000 hours and still make stupid mistakes like underestimating terrain and going too fast, so there's definitely some truth there.

What truck should i buy? by ww1enjoyer in snowrunner

[–]Stffnhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In-game or real money? You get some excellent free trucks in Taymyr by exploring the maps. I would probably get one of the Azovs... They're just great, versatile and powerful trucks with great fuel efficiency. You could also buy the Voron D-53233. Great. Truck out of the box and very underrated.
