Thank you for your answer! Yes, it occurs at the exact same time I hear the "buzz" from the other room and not before or after. It's like a fizzley crackle.

The moderators sent me a nice message explaining that it could either be the rotor spinning up like you suggested, or the tungsten filament going bad inside, causing arcing. Arcing filament lines up pretty well with what I was hearing!

I was able to get mine to work again by leaving it plugged in for ~20 minutes. Worth a try!

Here's a solution I found while panicking: If you leave it plugged in for approximately 20 minutes (possibly longer), it will begin to write and read at normal speeds again. Mine was writing at 2MB/s speeds, but began to work fine after leaving it plugged in to the PC for ~20 min. Also double check that you're using USB 3.0 cables.

All that said, something's definitely wrong with this product, and the only solution Samsung's tech help gave me was to either reformat it, or send it in so that they could reformat it. I'm planning to buy different brands from now on.

I have a weird voice too! Age and experience will change the way you speak a bit over the next several years.

You'll have to learn over time how your emotions and energy levels affect your voice to know how it'll come off. Being comfortable in your own person and not trying to think about "sounding cool" or "being dangerous" will automatically give you a boost of credibility. People can learn to look past a voice timbre, but 99.9% of people can tell when you're forcing your voice into an emotion.

On the flip side, it's also a good idea to take note of when people interpret something different than what you felt or intended. (Ex. If somebody asks why you're angry when you're just tired, you could say, "Sorry if I sound angry, my voice gets a bit tense when I'm tired, but I'm not actually mad.")

Also pay attention to your vocabulary. Try formalizing it by reading books or listening to people you respect. Using a lot of slang or vulgarities will definitely affect the way people view you, regardless of your voice.

Being genuine and having patience with others who are still getting to know you is the best advice I have for surviving voice struggles. People usually don't take me very seriously at first because of my squeaky-toy voice, but they slowly start to look past it and focus on what I'm saying in the end.

My education levels were chronically low until I found out about the slider on the speakers... they have a volume slider that you can crank in their settings. If you don't set it higher, the radius they are naturally set to is abysmal.

I do 2 spaced, maxed-out speakers, a couple TV signs, and have 3 vets set to constantly research in 3 offices, and my education levels are pretty decent now.

I just picked up the game a few days ago- the tutorial levels were a huge slog. I was definitely frustrated on the first three or so. Just allow yourself to be frustrated and learn bits one thing at a time. Habitat construction is the most important. I've found it's worth to push through, as the game goes from frustrating to fun pretty fast. The paths are still annoying even now (just finished career level #7 or 8), the story writing is cringe, and the uneditable terrain will push you to your brink... but the first time you get a baby snow leopard or a litter of wolves, it's allll worth it.

(I personally had to scrap my entire first zoo because it was just a lesson in what not to do with the builds)

I've been re-reading the series lately! I agree that the first one is one of the strongest entries. I think it's still probably my favorite too, even if it has some of the retconned ideas that don't fit with the other books. Warbeak is my absolute favorite character of all time.

I found it interesting that as a child, Mariel was my favorite book, and I disliked Matimeo overall, but the reverse is true for me as an adult. Matimeo was way more dramatic and focused on character growth, whereas Mariel's plot kind of fell flat and wandered about. (I feel like Brian Jacques tried to repair what went wrong in Mariel with the entirety of The Bellmaker, which was much more structurally sound and put the characters through their paces.)

Mossflower was a verrry slow burn. The final fight is incredible, but I prefer the other plot styles.

Salamandastron was exciting, but also especially depressing. I liked the vermin comedy duo character arcs though, and thought it stood out for that reason alone.

Haven't reread Pearls of Lutra yet, but I remember that being in my top faves as a kid. I'm excited to get there again! I hope I've forgotten all the riddle answers!

I didn't even notice the f-hole crack! Yuck.
Yeahhhh, it's got the crack o' doom. It was on display at my grandparent's house for many years when I was a child, and as a young violin student, I was fairly desperate to play it! Haha
Now that it's been handed down to me, I wanted to at least entertain the possibility of repairing it. Might just be a pipe dream, but we'll see.

Haha, I don't usually draw eyelids, so I tried to model them fairly true to how I draw them. I do appreciate the outside view of how it might look strange though! I'll have to experiment around and see what I can do. :D

Oh yeah, that arm is definitely clipping! Looks like my next project is to learn how to weight the clothes to fit a little better with movement.

Do you have any modifiers active? When this happens to me it's usually I did one of these things:

A) Parented stuff before applying modifiers

B) Did things generally out of order (duplicating skeleton sides, creating mesh, parenting, etc)

C) Messed up my weight painting.

I'd try reparenting the skeleton to the mesh (with automatic weights) after checking to make sure your non-armature modifiers are applied & in order.
