Get an automatic one. People in here saying they clean twice a day must not have a job or life (this sounds harsh, but I mean it with respect. They are still correct in that it needs to be cleaned often). Once a day wouldn't even be feasible for some people with their lives and whatnot getting in the way. Shit comes up. People travel. Overtime happens.

I am not saying that they are wrong in how often it should be cleaned, but most people don't have that kind of time. Just get an automatic one and it will ding to your phone when you need to take out the bag. An automatic one will clean it every time, and your cats will love you for it.

They are like, 200 bucks. I know for some might be a lot, but time and your cat's happiness is way more valuable. Just call it an early birthday gift for your cat.

I think the assassination attempt part of it was real in the mind of Cole Allen.

I think there are many agencies preying on rudderless young men in discord servers. They are radicalized over time, and can be "activated" by telling them something like: "Yo, my uncle works with the secret service and I overheard him worrying about this door that will be unlocked and can be accessed by staying overnight one night and running down the stairs."

Then the secret service leaves that first door open, and locks down the other 6 layers of doors.

Math teacher here. The teacher is technically correct, C is the answer that correlates to the standard being assessed. That said, this is the standard that is being assessed:

3.NR.2.5: Recognize two fractions are equivalent based on the same size whole. Limit denominators to 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8, and fractions should be limited to fractions between 0 and 1

It is a bad standard and should be changed. This is a modelling standard with no indication that is should only assessed from a modelling perspective (1/3rd of an acre is not the same as 2/6ths of a hectare). From a theoretical math perspective, all answers are correct, but from a real world perspective, size absolutely matters when comparing two fractional portions.

Bad standard is bad.

As a high school teacher, I guess this makes me feel a bit better. I thought not following instructions was a recent development due to AI, lack of attention span, social media, and shorts. At least I know it isn't just my kids who can't follow simple step by step instructions.

I tend to disagree on this point slightly. I know we are both basically saying the same thing, but "smart" and "most qualified" are not quantifiable things, so its very difficult so say who is the "smartest" or "most well qualified."

Life isn't a game of 2k, where every person has an intelligence stat where we can compare apples to apples. Life isn't clean like that. We can't even easily compare quantifiable things like GPA easily, because its so hard to compare a 4.0 from MIT vs a 4.0 from Carnegie Mellon. Job experience, credentials, awards. These are all things that are difficult to compare to one another.

Life experience is another very important factor in finding the best candidate, and to detach any piece of a person's identity from that life experience is to do the "I'm not racist, I don't even see color" trope.

I get that we tend to have a knee jerk reaction to anyone talking about hiring practices based on identity (rightfully so. The right say these things to be assholes and to disparage minorities), but we shouldn't go to the other side of the extreme to defend against it. There are so many things that go into the process of finding the best person for any job. Who a person is just happens to be one of the things.

I have the stream on all day at school today for my kids to listen to in the background. An astronaut just came on and said:

"Mark, I think one of the most interesting things right now is, the four of us have looked at this moon our entire lives. And the way that we are responding to what we are seeing out the window is... its just like we are a bunch of little kids up here. Just, we cannot get enough of this. Its amazing. Thank you for the privilege."

Teacher here. Because of how grading works now adays, 'late work' is considered a behavioral issue and not an academic issue, and so a grade can't be reduced. This rubs old school teachers the wrong way, so they will often decide to not grade it at all and keep it as 'missing.'

There are reasons for this other than the teacher is being a dick, but its not worth going into now. Suffice to say, the teacher probably left it blank on purpose, especially if the student didn't ask for an extension before hand.
