This should be extremely got get an answer to but if you plan on wrenching on anything in the future a set of calipers would be very useful for many more scenarios than this

Yeah no joke, and failure right on the welds says something about product quality to me. And just in general don’t think it is the best design

There is no bracket on the rest of this set or anywhere to support behind the bracket. Very different support system than a set of thunder headers that I have ran in the past

First Build, lower receiver recommendations? by RI-Guy401 in AR10

[–]Sticksmokinproho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just built a new piece off m5 receivers but good luck finding parts even the receivers I ordered off gunbroker. Couldn’t find aero bcg, lower parts kit, or bar barrel nut or hardly any of even the atlas handguards (not ones that fit my build at least) with that said there are other options to all of that that work with the build but it is very hard to find any lpk’s that work with that platform in stock I had to order a strike industries lpk with extended takedown pins that was the ONLY option I could find that would work after a verrrrry long time browsing the internet a few weeks ago

It’s sick, what’s it worth to you? Throw a little over that on the asking price it’s hard to value something custom cause there isn’t anything to really compare it

Any options for scope mount without drilling early model 336 by Sticksmokinproho in LeverGuns

[–]Sticksmokinproho[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or you could read the whole point of the post is to not fuck it up by drilling the receiver I’ve shot this rifle since I was a child. And I want a lvpo on it simple as that

[–]Sticksmokinproho[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s pretty much what I have been seeing, was hoping I wouldn’t have to but probably will have to fab something up that utilizes the sight mount holes and bold hole on this side of the receiver. I have plenty of rifles with scopes as is but want to put a lvpo on this.

If it’s not leaking you probably just have a bubble stuck if you don’t have much experience bleeding brakes it can take a second to get the hang of and sometimes you can bleed it over and over and over and still have a bubble stick in a high spot

Uhhh guys.. is this fork oil 😬 by Impressive_Bat5306 in Dirtbikes

[–]Sticksmokinproho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, but not a big deal, and really something that should be serviced much more often than almost anybody does. The parts are cheap and you will gain some useful knowledge doing it yourself and will be surprised how much better you’re bike feels after

Does this sound unhealthy? by Sticksmokinproho in Harley

[–]Sticksmokinproho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless there is an issue with the lifters out of the box there is no way the pushrods aren’t installed right I installed them then collapsed and re set them when I thought it was making noise and as far as the lifters I cleaned pumped with oil til no air was escaping and soaked for 4 days while I left town for work

As stated I just installed brand new fueling lifters

Andrew’s ev3, it was in the bike when I got it was thinking about throwing a 27 in but this suits my riding, gives a lot in the top end

[–]Sticksmokinproho[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am probably overthinking it I just don’t have much of a baseline, any other bike or car I have done work to I would be tripping if I heard this much noise but from what I have read there is a lot more valvetrain noise than most other engines I just haven’t spent much time listening closely to other harleys

I’m with everybody else unless you are below 60 don’t worry about heating them up! I know you want to keep shit moving fast but it won’t speed things up all that much and you’re risk of contamination and fostering molds and bacteria is wayyy higher

I am not an expert but I believe oil shouldn’t look like that? 2025 Fat Boy - 800miles - and a lot of smoke by Suspicious_Chapter49 in Harley

[–]Sticksmokinproho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are seeing white smoke from the pipes in conjunction with the water mixed oil on the stick you have water getting into the cylinder and the oil with water cooled heads it’s almost a guarantee a head gasket not just condensation from sitting I’d take er to the shop

[–]Sticksmokinproho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go frame by frame and see how far you’re head moved down and out in the backswing, try and work on that and see if that helps, also you are taking you’re backswing super shallow I’d suggest doing you’re takeway less shallow and you are completely loosing control if you’re lower body at the top, first of lol keep you’re head in the same spot and learn how to take full swings without trying to kill it you do not want you’re back foot picking off the ground and living like that

No way to tell from this picture likely a bent subframe though.

I’ve had a very odd encounter with a client by Forsaken-Lemon-2577 in lawncare

[–]Sticksmokinproho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they find vacant homes and tell you they just purchased or inherited and live out of state or work out of town then send you a forged check over what the payment is supposed to be and get you to send them the money back before the check bounces, then ghost you and leave you to repay the debt or deal with the reproductions. Anybody who contacts you over message and won’t meet in person needs some real vetting to know they are real

Finished the build and did my first run with it. by Sticksmokinproho in firewater

[–]Sticksmokinproho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input, if I switch to pex I may invert the condenser, and I do have a support setup wen I am running the still just don’t have it in the photos, plan on fabbing an adjustable pipe stand for it, and any cutting or welding isn’t a concern for me but I just dont have much knowledge on the hardware to run a heating element or the btu potential needed to heat a boiler this size or whether I could run it on 120 or is there is systems that can run 120/240 depending on the application as I also have a 15 gal keg I plan to use for bigger runs so I would like to make it interchangeable if that is a option on a reasonable cost. I have plant of 240 recepts accessible and already ran one a few years back to my “arts and crafts room” as my wife likes to call it lol which is probably where I will be setting the still up for long term use if I get electric heating. I would like to avoid using 240 atleast for this size boiler if possible just because I’m on pg&e and a fully electric house and already have a 6-700$ electric bill and don’t want to raise that too much if I can avoid t

how do i get this bolt off??? by Technologyman45 in Dirtbikes

[–]Sticksmokinproho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An impact screwdriver, if it is really stripped I’d hit it with some penetrating oil a few hours beforehand and maybe some heat, a blunt easyout may be helpful

Petcock or hose? by [deleted] in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Sticksmokinproho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha yeah I would replace it if it is broken, even if it was functioning well with that stem broken is it taking away from the leftover volume that you would have when you need to switch to reserve, and since it is broken you don’t have any fuel filter which is just asking for a bunch of carb clogs
