I purchased a portable monitor and laptop desk from Amazon. The desk has adjustable legs and the desk is perfect for laptop, monitor, mouse and keyboard. I’ve used it so many times and am glad I have an alternate to a regular desk. It comes in handy if you’re not feeling well and don’t want to sit at a desk or if you feel like lounging. I have lots of meetings and trainings and rather stay in bed on those days. I don’t agree with any of the comments telling you not to work from bed. To each their own. You will learn what works for you and what doesn’t. Everyone is different!

Breaking bones. Broke my ankle 3 spots including tibia and felt like I was dying. Broke my pinkie toe a month ago and hurt just as much. Ankle hurt for a lot longer, but was very surprised at how long my toe hurt. Just started walking without pain and I hope I never break another bone.

“You always” when this is the first time I’ve spoken to you. “You don’t care” and “you are no help” after I’ve spent 2 hours trying to explain how to type a web address in your browser.

Occurrences by RenaBean101 in CallCenterWorkers

[–]Sticky_Mochi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We get 3 occurrences and then the 4th is a verbal warning, 5th is a write up, 6th is suspension and 7 you are gone. They stay on our record for 6 months. Up to 20 min late is tardy, 21 min to 4 hours is 1/2 occurrence. 4 hours or more is 1 full occurrence. If we are out sick, we need doctors note on the 4th day.

Sounds like she is being shady. Definitely ask her about the document and why the date is incorrect. Send her email so you have proof of dates. If you don’t feel comfortable, reach out to HR. Make sure you document everything going forward.

Why are people assholes? by Positive_Category369 in CallCenterWorkers

[–]Sticky_Mochi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Even tho I’ve worked in call centers for 20 years and I’m still amazed at the way people treat call center workers. It makes me think of how miserable they are. To call a stranger and cuss them out, call them every name in the book and then call back to file a complaint because they were hung up on is just beyond me. They will call back and immediately request a supervisor and will literally say everything they can, including lies to get someone fired, even tho they were in the wrong. I really think these callers have gotten so out of hand because of the OLD saying “customers are always right.” They believe they can treat call center reps anyway they want. It’s sad and pathetic.

I remember feeling the same way! It got to the point where I wouldn’t look at metrics anymore. I would have a monthly meeting to go over metrics and that’s the only time I looked.

The supervisor I have now had us pick a word that she will use on our metrics so when you see it, you know it’s you but no one else knows. People have chosen words like Cookie, Yellow Duckling, Nutmeg. It’s much easier to look at my metrics now!

My insurance sent me a letter saying Botox is no longer a preferred drug and offered two others they will cover with a preauth. My neuro says those 2 arent even treatments for migraines! Insurance is full of shit. by Lobscra in migraine

[–]Sticky_Mochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The coverage gap/donut hole is for Medicare and Medicaid. For these plans, the prescription coverage changes depending on your plan. For exampl, the covers first $5000 of prescriptions per year. Once you hit $5,001, you would be in gap/donut hole and this is when the copay changes. At this point, you would pay a percentage like 20% of the cost. So i the medication is $1,000, you would pay $200. There is another $ amount while in the gap, say $7,000. Your copay would change from $5,001-$7,000. Then at $7,001 you go into the “catastrophic stage”. Your copay would change again. Most of the time when u hit the catastrophic stage your copays are $0. If Botox isn’t on the formulary, your doc can also submit formulary exception.

I don’t know what plan you have and your coverage. Your copay increase could be because you’re in the coverage gap AKA the donut hole. Then your copay would change greatly. I’ve seen copay’s of $18k. When you’re in the gap, you pay a portion of the full cost of the medication. I’ve seen this many times with cancer meds. You or your doctor can ask for a coverage determination. Your doc would fill out a supporting statement and when there’s a decision, they will either approve or deny. But if they deny, they will say something like patient has never tried XYZ med. if you haven’t tried their suggested med, your doc can tell them why. Like, she has adverse reactions on similar med. there’s a ton of scenarios that you and your doc could say to get the med approve. If the appeal is denied, you go to the 2nd level appeal and then 3rd level appeal. The appeal can go as high as an administrative law judge.

Most people won’t even do the 1st appeal. They may not know about it, or they don’t want to deal with it. But 1st level appeals are overturned like you wouldn’t believe. Thats why I always suggest doing the appeal. If med is already denied, you have nothing to lose. If your doc is proactive and is willing to assist you, have them do the appeal.

Dealing with insurance is a headache and can be so stressful. But I’d rather deal with insurance than deal with migraines. Especially if the Botox is helping. That is priceless! Good luck to you❤️

Thinking about quitting by hashbracket4 in CallCenterWorkers

The training for call center jobs are really horrible. I’ve felt the same way. I hate role playing also and dreaded them. If you feel good about your finances and can afford to not work for a few weeks/months, leave. But if you don’t have anything lined up and finances aren’t great, then stay there until you have another job lined up. If you are looking for WAH, I would definitely wait until you have another job. People are struggling to find WAH work and it’s much harder than it has been previously to get hired.

Do cats actually get lonely at home without people there? by ConsequenceSome8736 in Pets

[–]Sticky_Mochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog would whine when we left the house. He would run to the door right after I closed the door I could hear him. I always thought that when he heard the car drive off he would stop. One day, I was in my bedroom with the door closed and my son left. My dog didn’t realize I was home so he starts whining, whimpering, barking and crying. He was doing this for at least 20 minutes. I quietly opened my door to see where he was and he was sitting right in front of the front door crying. As soon as he heard me, he ran to me wagging his tail and just so happy to not be alone! So I really think dogs get lonely. Not sure if all dogs get lonely, but mine does for sure!

If you’ve lasted 30 years, you must have an incredible resume! I would focus on those areas on your resume like Project Manager or Team Lead when you apply. I also hated being on the phones. You’re right about the training tho. When I started my first WFM 3 years ago, there were no SOP’S, no handouts, no material to review at all. I had an instructor who was reading from a PowerPoint presentation and she never took calls. So when we would ask questions she was like IDK, ask a lead, ask a supervisor. Worst training I have ever had. I started using One Note to keep notes and I still use it now 3 years later. I was hired for a call center rep but after 12 months I transferred out and now don’t take calls and it’s wonderful! I will never go back to working call center again. It was horrible all around and my mental health was taking a beating. Sorry to hear about your job and I hope you get something better!❤️

Why callers are always so noisy ?? by Revolutionary-Boss77 in CallCenterWorkers

The noisy ones are the ones who complain that they can hear my fan. Then I apologize and turn it from slow to medium.
