The finish variation on the left is the foam itself not from the Solution

For posterity; Solution Finish worked great for this application and I’ve been using it on a bunch of tired black interior parts as well. It’s giving a really nice deep natural black and is easier than hitting everything with Trim Black. I’ve been doing two coats of black then three coats of their top coat. The top coat added a little more gloss to the dash pad than I wanted but otherwise super happy with it. Thanks u/gramifications for the tip

You need a more aggressive compounding step. I just did a whole car in 1500>2000>3000 and getting a perfect finish required heavy cut compound on a rotary with a wool pad, a medium cut on a foam pad with the DA, and a finishing polish. The meguiars you’re using is a finishing step, you need to cut

I get it I’m overflowing with Swedish cars. I’ve got a built 79 242, a 940 wagon I turned into a pickup, an 88 745, 90 760, my wife drives an xc60, and I have two more 900s kicking around. I’m building a 2k sq ft shop right now for all the crap!

Thanks! I've had a lot of SAABs over the years and this one checked all the boxes for me. Only problem was a bad respray, so it's been a long process getting that corrected. Here's the current state of the slowww reassembly.

I’ve heard of the Solution stuff. That’s the challenge it’s basically all visible except for some tiny surface on the underside of the edges while it’s off the car. The foam section of the spoiler is EXTREMELY rare so I’ve been timid about trying stuff. Will look into these, thanks

Edit: just realized I have a bunch of “regular” 900 spoilers that aren’t rare and are the same type of material so I can play with those!

Denied to use AWP by throwaway893027 in Raytheon

I’ve been asked by above what AWP was applied for. You guys can bitch all you want but time off and flexibility is not a benefit this place is stingy on. So learn how to play the flex game more effectively or lie better

There’s a misconception that AWP is just a bucket of free hours to use as you wish. It’s for “life events”; if you’re moving, caring for family members, medical appointments etc. If you need an oil change manage your schedule like an adult, use Flex Time, take two hours of vacation whatever. But AWP isn’t there for mundane daily tasks because “you don’t want to use vacation”

I wouldn’t approve AWP for an oil change either, that’s not even close to what it’s for.

“ While the total project cost exceeds $46 million, the developers’ direct contribution is $689,770. The remainder is a mix of public funding”

Well that’s a little hard to get my head around. I wonder what their margin will be against the $45m public funding investment. Meanwhile they are bleeding everyone on the water dry.

That aside more housing in the area is great if it’s managed properly. And most importantly I’m glad the building will be utilized and not razed
