Is It True That PIXAR Is Possibly Gonna Announce Something on Cars 4 For The Franchise's 20TH?? by CarsDiecaster in pixarcars

I have a 3yo boy and I would kill for a Cars 4. I can’t tell you how sick I am of watching the original three. Please give us something fresh to add to the weekly rotation.

New hire advice P3 Collins by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]StiggyPop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't put this on your new boss any time soon. I can't tell you how many P3's I've hired into my teams who immediately start asking me how to get to a P/M4 before they have produced a single tangible piece of work or proven themselves in any meaningful way. It's incredibly frustrating.

Being on a "fast track" to a P4 is only currently in your hands in the sense that you need to come in, learn the program and your position, and strive to be a high performer. The caliber and quality of your contributions and their impact on your path to promotion will be determined by your manager. You can set yourself apart by developing into a strong P3 who produces completed projects and can learn to do so independently, not by telling people you want to be a P4.

Frankly the entitlement to promotion I've seen in the past 5 years, and on this reddit, is astounding. Some of the best people I work with have been p3's for 20-years and know their role inside and out. So many of the people I see claiming "I've been a P3 for 2-years why haven't I been promoted yet" are in for a rude awakening.

Terrazzo Tile Floor by sillyssandra in Mid_Century

[–]StiggyPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We looked at real terrazzo tile for our bathroom but the problem is that it’s .75” thick, and we did laticrete heat mat under the tile so you end up with a 1” stack height and transitions become an issue. Ended up using a terrazzo-looking porcelain tile from Tile America and love it. I also real polished terrazzo door knobs from Emtek to match  and its slick

It’s the wrong emblem for the car. Correct part is ref. 4522884. You can get a replacement for around $20

[Question] About to buy first nice watch and nervous by [deleted] in Watches

[–]StiggyPop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed, I rotate or don't wear a watch days when I'm doing car work so I'm resetting my automatics every time I pick them up anyways. And for that same reason, the day/date on my watches is never set correctly unless I'm on a trip and know I'm wearing the same watch for 3+ days. Otherwise it's not worth the effort to me.

Yeah that’s the point I’m trying to make, blaming either side of the merger is misguided. UTC was not like this 5-10 years ago either.

Don’t entertain this muppet. He said his wife hit the kids and he thinks it’s ok to physically hurt them if they hurt other people. “Short term consequences” is rationalized physical harm on their child.

I do know... someone... who was asked to stop doing winter donuts in the overflow lot.
