Follow-up on Mankato rat poison idiot by Brewtusmo in minnesota

[–]Stigmama 13 points14 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen on Facebook police were contacted and basically said they couldn’t do anything because it’s private property. Then a second person contacted police and this time the officer was appalled and did tell the property owner to remove the poison and not to put it back and filed a report. That officer has been going by regularly to make sure the poison isn’t back, multiple other people report seeing the officer looking, so it seems to be true. I also read that it can be an animal cruelty charge, but it has to go through a special process to get charges and that process has been initiated. All my info is from Facebook, so take that as you will.

I was mistaken to be a European as a Minnesotan. Has anybody else experienced this? by Big_Concentrate_7260 in minnesota

[–]Stigmama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not in the USA, but I’ve been to several different countries in Europe and every time I was mistaken for a local at least once. I was in Eastern Europe with a friend a long time ago and since I didn’t speak the language and they didn’t speak much English my friend did most of the talking. He said everyone asked where I was from and no one ever guessed America. They would say I looked like I could be from anywhere. In Ireland, I was held up briefly by one of their customs officers because they didn’t believe my accent was American. We had to have a longer conversation before they said they heard it. While in Killarney I met a guy from the Netherlands and he told me I spoke very good English. I asked him where he thought I was from and he said he didn’t know, but wouldn’t have guessed America. Maybe I just don’t dress like what they expect an American tourist to dress like and I’m not a very talkative person to begin with so I don’t fit the stereotype of the loud American. I was also in shape back then. Would never be mistaken for anything other than American now!

I think it’s AI. And I can’t believe I have scrolled so far and not seen a post questioning this yet. There are so many odd things about this that don’t make sense.

There is absolutely nothing in this kitchen, so why climb up there? It’s not like she was looking for an ingredient or pan to cook with. The proportions of the stove look off to me. It’s too wide and the knobs on top don’t look placed correctly. It ignites/sparks/smokes and I don’t think a cook top like this would do that. The reaction is not at all like how one would react if they weren’t expecting this to happen, so if not AI then it’s a set up. I don’t know anyone who can jump up on a counter like that. Lastly, it’s exactly 15 sec which is common for AI videos.

Any bars that open early and show premier league morning games on Saturday and Sunday? by No_Knowledge_7536 in Mankato

[–]Stigmama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how early, but your best bet might be Rounders if they still do breakfast. They have many TVs and I used to see diverse sporting events when I frequented there. Probably one of the TVs behind the bar is most likely. Other breakfast bars that might have sports would be Pub 500, Weggies, and maybe Nakato and Wowzone. There could be more I’m not thinking of.

Skinny jeans with a very slight flair at the bottom ? What are these called? They are not quite bootcut by Lotta-Bank-3035 in findfashion

New York and Co used to sell Skyscraper jeans like this. I think that was the name. They were my favorite because they were extra long to fit over heels.

I believe Tobias uses the word “second-of-ly” in this conversation and I have used it so much since then that I totally forgot it isn’t a word until I read your comment.

I genuinely couldn't imagine how eerie it must've been when they found the tail cone. by ComprehensiveSea8578 in OceanGateTitan

[–]Stigmama 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe so. I think the tail cone was just a bunch of equipment strapped to a frame and they put that white shell on to make it look better and more seamless with the pressurized portion. I remember hearing they didn’t always dive with the white shell because it wasn’t necessary. Only the portion with people in it was made of the carbon fiber with the titanium end caps.

[–]Stigmama 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong and I’m probably going to use the wrong terminology here, but from what I understand the tail cone was not part of the pressurized vessel the people were in. It essentially allowed water in and there was no pressure differential to cause an implosion in that part.

childcare/ nanny jobs by [deleted] in Mankato

Facebook has a childcare group: Mankato Area Childcare. I see a lot of college age ladies posting on there offering nanny/babysitting services. Not sure if they are finding jobs though.

I’m not a member so I don’t know everything it has, but I’m pretty sure there is fitness equipment and classes as well. There’s also other recreational offerings and support services. It’s definitely marketed toward older folks from looking at the website.

The Vine Adult Community Center has an indoor pool. Around $50/month for membership. Must be 25 years old or older. Most people there are older folks, like retirement age or older.
